Reviews

[Kiran Bhat]

Jayanta Mahapatra is one of the great deans of English Indian writing. His work combines the folkloric with the rhetorical. Iti s full of local flavour but also brilliant in its capturing of image and emotion. Mahapatra also has excellent structures to his poems. He makes sure to fill his verses with meaning. He's absolutely someone to study, for anyone who is interested in immersing themselves in the form.
