Man, she picks the ugliest fabrics.
And why every quilt book in existence wastes 1/4 or 1/3 of the book instructing you in "quilting basics", I don't know. well, I do know: to waste space. Exactly ONE quilting book will be the first quilting book you read, and MAYBE that's the one that should instruct you in "quilting basics". But even the first-time quilter likely isn't going to hunt down a quilting pattern book from a quilting blog to teach them, they're going to learn from someone or from a class.
