This book contains the most wonderfull hidious woman I have ever encountered in a story ever !! Lady Georgette Belvoir completely stole the show with her viperish behaviour . Luckily Sandra Heath did not let her get away with it , as is so often the case with villains in romance books .
I found the romance between the H & h a little bit on the cool side but that is maybe because they were not at their very best with each other from the beginning .
Our H. Nicholas Stanhope rescues our h. Sarah at an inn from ravishment and because of that are both a little bit shaken . He berates her for beeing foolish and she feels lectured as a naughty child and says to him ( excerpt ) "Although you may be assured of my immense gratitude for your timely help , I think it best if we parted now , before your warmth and charm overwhelm me completely . Good day ". ( end excerpt ) So no insta love here !
If you like a heroine with a little backbone and a handsome and honourable Hero + a very bad , jealous woman , than you definitely should read this book .

Not really a road-trip romance but the couple were back and forth and here and there. There were also constant time shifts where the hero especially looked back on when this or that had happened. Very confusing. Duplicitous frenemies, weak relatives, gambling parents and friends...this book had it all. I finished it but I can't really recommend it. Sandra Heath is capable of better than this.
