A big thank you to BookSirens and Nicole Wolfe for the ARC I received and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
This book was a dark and emotional story dealing with some very sensitive content. I think the author handled it well and overall did a good job of portraying what to my mind at least were realistic responses to the situations that the characters found themselves in. I also really enjoyed that it had both Autumn and Torin's POVs so that we got to know the story and them from both of their perspectives.
I loved Torin's character, he was so understanding/tried to understand what Autumn was going through and what she needed after experiencing the amount of trauma she did while still living up to his alpha status. Autumn's character I was a bit more worried about liking because I hate "damsel in distress" characters, but because of what she went through her fear and responses as a result of that fear made sense, and as you read on you start to realize the strength behind Autumn's actions and that she is no damsel.
My one comment on how this book could have been improved is that I wish that the Lycan/shapeshifting culture played a bit larger role than it did. Honestly, for most of the book, it felt like the fact that this was taking place in shapeshifter villages was just a background fact and this could have just as easily have been warfare between human villages. I will say as the story progressed, it started to play a bit more of an important role, but I still would have liked to have seen more. I would have also liked a bit more backstory for how Autumn and her mom ended up in such a horrific position, but it is understandable that it was not included because Autumn was so young when it initially happened that she may not have remembered.
Finally, I want to give a shout-out for the cover, which is eye-catching, striking, and disturbing all at once.

I received this book as an ARC. I loved it. The story is filled with emotion. A human (Autumn) who has been a slave in an evil werewolf pack since she was four years old is saved by a werewolf (Torin) from another pack. She doesn’t speak as she does not trust men. She suffers from PTSD and has many episodes of flashbacks and pain as she tries to recover in her new home.
The story is well written, fast paced, and filled with conflict. The description of Autumn’s bouts of PTSD are spot on. Not everyone manifests the same way and Nicole does a good job of showing Autumn’s reactions and triggers. Overall, this story is a story of survival, acceptance, strength, and love.
There are possible triggers for sexual assault and abuse, and I would caution those who have trouble reading those kinds of things. Although it is not overwhelmingly blatant it may still cause discomfort to some.

I enjoyed this story. Autumn and her pain is overwhelming, but Torin and his family are just what she needs. I love the byplay between them and how autumn blooms page by page. I really need to know how the next part goes with other characters. Def worth reading.

This is a Forbidden Fate Series love story for Autumn and Torin Delaney. this book is a page turners for sure with its haunting tells of shifters stealing young woman and children to the brave and strong fight to find love and happiness. to lose and new found courage. I am hooked on this story and can not wait to see what the next books holds.

Well, I have just discovered another fabulous author who has shot to the top of my favorite author's list. Torrin and Autumn's story was one of joy, sorrow, determination, love conquers all, raw emotion, adventure, the list goes on.
This story tore at my heartstrings with it's simplicity and ease of reading. The story was touching and has left me hoping i can get the next story in the series.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I love books that combine romance and danger, and an element of supernatural is the cherry on top. So this book was right up my alley.
The book was well-written and the two main characters were realistically flawed but overall lovely people, so I enjoyed their journey and was happy for them to get together.
I should mention that it is a book that involves rape and violence towards women, so if you can't cope with that, steer clear. Otherwise give it a go.
A few comments:
I was having trouble placing the timing of the book, which jarred me a bit. We have sword fights, healers and animal skin rugs, which made me think of an old-world setting, but then we had showers and some modern speech which flung me back into the present. It mentioned something about humans using wedding rings in the past so I was wondering if it was some future setting. Not sure.
There were a few times where either I missed a detail or Wolfe forgot what came before. For example, she had her characters sitting on a bed talking and then the male is carrying the female to the bed. I did get an advance copy, so things like that may have been fixed in the final version but I had to mention it.
It is listed as the first book in the series but Wolfe has a prequel which centers around two other characters. I am guessing reading the prequel first would be better. I felt like the extra information on those two would have helped with the reading of this one.

OMG. I loved this book. This book is a roller coaster of emotions. Watching Autumn gain the courage and speak was beautiful. Torrin learning to have patience beyond what most would be capable of for the women who caught his attention was absolutely amazing. There were some very sad parts in this book that had me screaming no in my head. But also some very sweet parts that made my heart melt. I can't wait for the next book Marked by Moonlight. These books have a very unique and creative world with great characters and so many emotions and details. Nichole Wolfe's world will have you sucked in and losing sleep turning pages.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good healing arc, and Autumn's was definitely that!
The story is actually one you've probably seen elsewhere: victim of abuse is held captive by this one Lycan pack, gets saved by a warrior from another Lycan pack, complicates everybody's lives because them stoopid rules for these Lycan packs, and ends up falling in love that leads to some sort of HEA.
Tempted by Twilight DOES have some of the above, but … not entirely.
We have Autumn, who is the abuse victim, so check
We have Torin, who is her saviour, also check.
We have the complication between the two Lycan packs, the added information that slavery is a key disputed thing here, and that this one slave girl could potentially lead to massive problems … check.
Love, double check.
HEA though? Well, not exactly.
See I will say right off the bat that, even though this book IS considered and labelled as a standalone, the ending is written in such a way that you don't actually get all the resolution you'd want, and you NEED to read the following book (which, I hope that it's about the Lycana, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let it be about her). It's not a detriment or anything, but is IS a mild little 'mmph' right at the end if you really want to know what's going to happen.
I did thoroughly enjoy Autumn's characterization, however, because instead of what you'd get in 3/4 of these stories (which is insta-lust turning into insta-love with barely any touching on what happened), Torin actually has to work for it, and Autumn doesn't instantly fall right into his lap. So I enjoyed the progression, and I felt it led to a natural, organic conclusion there.
I was pleasantly surprised that the slavery problem runs way, way deeper than what you'd think initially, and while you're bound to be annoyed with Talon, Torin's father (listen, as far as I know at the moment he's a Class A jerk by characterization, but dang it you need to know how to write them, and the author does that supremely well), you're also HOPEFULLY going to see the loophole they wriggle through at the end of the book before the big reveal happens.
I was thrown with the way they spoke for a while there though, mostly because it sounded frightfully modern in comparison to the fact that they seemed to exist in a more-or-less medieval society with hunting, sword-fights, slavery and the like.
Then someone got called "babycakes" or whatnot and I was there like 'Who invited Danny Zuko to this party?'
BUT all jokes aside, I feel like this is a very good set-up for what's to come, we have good bones here for the story ahead. I'm tempted to read the prequel story about Nessie (I might grab it), but I'm really a lot more interested in the Lycana, to be honest, so I'm looking forward to the release of the next book with anticipation.
However, to the marketing team, or whoever is putting these blurbs for the book on sites: your blurbs give information that is very scarce in the book itself. The Blood Wars is something that wasn't even on my radar until I saw it on Goodreads, so maybe a little more exposition on that would also be a good idea for whatever book comes next. BUT I'll definitely be picking the next one up eventually! So good show.

CW: rape
This book should have been up my alley, but alas it wasn't really for me. As I was reading this book everything was fine, but after I finished it and thought about it more, the more issues I had with it.
One of my biggest problems with this is the world building, it didn't feel fleshed out enough. Human women and girls are kept as slaves by werewolves for breeding purposes after a supposed war. This war is never mentioned. The only reason I even know that's the why behind the enslavement is the book synopsis. Like it is literally never fully explained. Also, it's unclear if the whole world or country is like this or if there's a larger world outside of the werewolf world. It felt like this book was in the middle of a series instead of being the first book.
Another issue I have is our hero, Torin, and his whole family are pretty apathetic about the whole slavery thing. Torin is understandably upset that the woman he's falling in love with has been raped, beaten, and abused her whole life, but when it comes to all the other women and girls still stuck in slavery he doesn't really care. Even his family which are supposed to be the good guys (his pack is the only one without slavery) are pretty meh about it, even though his mother was a slave too! Maybe as the series continues, they'll work to overthrow the slave system, but I'm not holding my breath.
And finally we come to last issue (or at last least the last one I'm going to write about): the cover. The cover is terrible, like really, really bad. Especially within the context of the book. Our main character, Autumn, has taken a vow of silence for a very good reason. This quote from the book explains it best: "The more I used it (her voice) to beg and scream for them to stop, the more they wanted to continue." And if it's unclear the "them" are her rapists. So to have the cover featuring a woman with duct tape over her mouth feels really disrespectful and tasteless. I got this book as an ARC so I was hoping there would be time to fix the cover, but according to Goodreads the book has been published already so it's too late.
To end on a positive, the main characters had good chemistry. And Autumn's trauma is mostly handled well. Like I mentioned early, this book just wasn't really for me. To paraphrase Rangathan: every book its reader, and for this one it wasn't me.

This book…ahhhhh!!! OK, first things first. Before reading this book, if you haven’t seen my message already, please be sure to research your trigger warnings. This one will definitely get someone. Second, and unrelated, this is the 2nd book in a freaking row that has made me cry. What the crap. This might also just be that I am an emotional weenie.
Tempted by Twilight by Nichole Wolfe is book 1 of The Forbidden Fate Series. Book 2 is due out later this year. Not going to lie, I am really looking forward to book 2. I definitely want to see what happens next. I wouldn’t say that this book ends on a cliff hanger per say, but it definitely leaves you wanting to know what is going to happen next.
So, what is this book about you ask. Well in this book we are introduced to Autumn, she is a human slave to the Blackmoon shifter pack. We are also introduced to Torin who is a shifter of the Whitemoon pack. These two are introduced to each other when Torin is part of the raid to Blackmoon. Torin hears Autumn trying to escape and something inside him screams for him to help. That’s it, story’s over…wait, you don’t believe me. Okay, that’s reasonable. Well, all stories have to have conflict and the problem is saving (or stealing) Autumn could lead to war. Shifter law states that if you steal a slave, you most trade for a different slave or the other pack has a right to declare war to get their slave returned. Unfortunately, Whitemoon pack doesn’t keep slaves making a trade impossible. Torin has to decide if he wants to return Autumn and save his family and pack from war. Or if his budding friendship with Autumn is worth the risk of war.
This book was so good. It shows the beginning process of someone healing from traumatic events. It has a powerful family dynamic and deals with the struggles of unexpected change within a family unit and the bonds affected by those changes. I can’t say much more about this book without ruining it for you but I definitely think it is worth your time to read.

I give this book 3.5 stars. There were some things I really enjoyed, one of those being the pacing. It was a fast read and I enjoyed the character development. I particularly liked the male lead, Torin. His patience with Autumn was genuine. Autumn needed time to recover so the pacing worked for that as well. It makes sense that her emotional scars don’t allow her to trust easily.
Here is what could’ve made the book better, just in my opinion, of course. So, I wish there was more about the setting/time. I assume this is modern because there’s a bathroom with a toilet and shower. But, Autumn wears dresses and Torin wears a tunic and leathers. He also fights with swords. So, the time frame is never addressed and that confused me. Where is this? Also, they walk from village to village through the forest pretty easily and quickly. So, do these people really just live like a 10 minute walk apart? And where is this? Is this like in a secluded wooded area in Canada or are we taking something like a new, fictional world on a made up continent?
This book begins to set up the next one. For me, it was a little low steam. I usually prefer a 4-5 on the steam scale and this was maybe 1.5. I wish the book was longer; like I want more of Autumn and Torin together, happily. I felt like the ending was rushed. We spent 85% of the book trying to get Autumn to open up and trust Torin, and once this happens, it’s a whirlwind to close it up and get ready for the next one. So, for me, I wish there was more of their story together before the ending.

We spent 85% of the book trying to get Autumn to open up and trust Torin, and once this happens, it’s a whirlwind to close it up and get ready for the next one. So, for me, I wish there was more of their story together before the ending.

Supernatural romance stories are always a joy to read and Tempted by Twilight is a wonderful love story between Autumn and Torin. Autumn is a girl who is struggling to overcome her dark past and she is saved by Torin who is the son of an Alpha. What I particularly like about this book is that it shows the internal struggle that people who have experienced abuse go through and that overcoming trauma is possible. This novel also displays how important it is for the victim to be in a supportive environment while they are in the process of healing.
The novel was a good read but I felt that it was rather fast-paced. I feel that it would have been better if the book was slightly longer because I think that it would have made the healing process of Autumn more believable considering her past.
One thing to note is that Tempted by Twilight touches on sexual abuse, rape, and violence on women, some readers may not be comfortable with reading this. If you are uncomfortable with these topics, then this book is not for you.
Tempted by Twilight is a good read and it is a novel that readers of paranormal romance may enjoy if they are not averse to reading a book that has sexual abuse, rape, and violence. The is book 1 in the Forbidden Fate series by Nichole Wolfe. It’s off to a good start and I will definitely continue with this series.
This story follows Autumn, a human slave girl. She was only 4 years old, when she was torn from her mothers arms and sold to the Alpha of the brutal Blackmoon shifter pack. She is broken, and no longer speaks, as she refuses to give Jaxon the pack leader, the satisfaction of her screams.
Desperate to escape this hell she lives in, she gets an opportunity when the rival Whitemoon pack come to take back one of their pack members mates who had been captured.
Torin the son of the Whitemoon pack finds her bloody and bruised from trying to throw herself at the door of her cell. He aids her escape and brings her back to his village to heal. However, she is terrified as believes all men are the same.
The Whitemoon pack are different and abolished slavery when Torins father took over. While everyone treats her like a human being, she still struggles to trust and has regular flashbacks.
Can Torin help her heal, and will she be able to trust again. You need to read and see for yourself.

I need to preface this review with saying- thus book ended up being two sweet and soft for me which totally colors my views.
I would place this as good for 13-18ish (maybe) which does fit the YA reading. In saying that, a few issues I personally struggle with was quite simply how reserved Autumn was there are some very serious matters such as rape insinuated here, but not in detail. The storyline I feel holds promise but could be expanded on which I think would have changed my enjoyment it was a simple read and easy to get theoigh but not one I felt drawn to read. I believe alot of that comes with inability to connect to the main character Autumn. However in saying that and due to majority of books I read being very strong female types and dark kick butt characters, I would say
If you enjoy
-slow romance
- werewolves
- rescuing of damsel in distress
And respectable men with timid shyer main characters or also are thinking for a teen then give this book a read:)

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "TEMPTED BY TWILIGHT". WOW!!!!! What an on the edge of your seat intense emotional heartwrenching story, with intrigue, abuse, Captive, pain, heartache, broken, it grabs you from beginning to end your hooked.
With the Blood Wars over the humans lost the Immortals like Vampires & Shifters the new generating taking over go back to to the old ways of slavery, savagery, obedience & death they woman & children captive.
Torrin is in enemy territory looking for a good fight then he hears the silent cry of a woman asking for help when he sees how frail & all the pain in her eyes his heart does the only it can save her.
Torrin & Autumn journey not easy road ahead with the help of his family & him they help her heal I love the chemistry between these two will they risk it all to gain freedom.
I definitely recommend to get this very well written story with great interesting captivating characters so much happens your turning the images to the end, I'm so looking forward to the next book in this series "MARKED BY MOONLIGHT"

This is an engaging book with a likable heroine and hero. Autumn has a rather tall order for her emotional journey. The hero, Torin, has his own journey. What I liked was the amount of detail in the book for the most part. I did feel at times that there was too much of a good thing. Sometimes, the level of detail was overly heady, followed by not enough detail in other aspects. I have mixed feelings about the ending.
While the bare bones of the story and secondary characters is good, to earn my 5 stars, a focus on more condensing of details in parts would work. Tighten up and take advantage of the last third to create momentum for the sequel that is implied with certain events in the book. Finally, cut the abruptness that happens in parts, which will strengthen the overall work.
Overall, I would read another work by this author, if only to see what happens next in the series.

What a fantastic new series. I haven't read a book in a while where I had gotten to the end and realised it was finished. It was such an easy read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Torin and Autumn were such likeable characters and the struggles and emotions gave the story such a great feel to it. My only criticism would be that there was a lack of world building and I felt there was something missing to explain why the world was like it was. Was it the past, present or the future? To me this was the only let down in what is an extremely engaging story. I would advise caution however if you have any triggers. There was a lack of warnings at the start and this story does deal with abuse, rape and slavery. I will be looking forward to Kayline's story when it is out.

I think I have found the world to new authors and I plan to explore all who intrigue me with what they have written.
I gave four stars because I wasn't drawn into the story as an invisible character that is important to me as it gives me a better feel for the world building and the realism of the characters. As a spectator I found this entertaining enjoyable and dramatic.
If you as a fellow reader enjoy this genre then I implore you to check out this story. It could take you away from reality just a little while if needed.

This is the first book I have read written by Nichole Wolfe and I am impressed. She has a way of writing that takes your breath away throughout the book and makes it completely impossible to put it down from you.

I dont want to write too much about the book, because this one is worth reading without knowing to much in advance.This book is explosive with action and romance and it is completely impossible to put the away from you.

This book does have the trigger of past sexual abuse. Which the FMC suffers from severe PTSD from it. She gain strength incompetence while she's rescued the pack that is abused her her entire life. She learned to not only care for people but love them.
The dynamic between the MC's family is excellent. So many books it's all happy joy joy family. This one has real struggles and challenges between every member.
I cannot wait to rebook too. I've only had a slight cliffhanger but it was enough to make you need to know how they're going to get out of the trouble they've gotten into.

Phenomenal Book! Autumn’s story was truly heartbreaking to read but watching her grow from page one and overcome so much was incredible. The chemistry between Torin and Autumn was amazing to read and I loved all the other characters (minus the “villains” of course). This is a fast paced book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, pull at your heart and cause you to fall in love with the world Nichole Wolfe has created through her writing. I can’t not wait for the next book to be released.

Torin and Autumn have an uphill battle to find their HEA and have to witness torture, abuse, pack law and leadership battles. A trigger warning for domestic violence and abuse. Autumn is deeply traumatised but the understanding, comfort and security that Torin provides helps her become stronger than expected. This story is about Autumn and Torin. Autumn, a slave, is rescued by Torin. It is a painful and emotional journey that keeps you hooked until the very end. It is a paranormal read that is one heck of a roller coaster ride of emotions. This is the first story by this author I have read and I was not disappointed.

Pleasantly surprised by this book. It is extremely well written and deals with the issue of PTSD in a very accurate way. The book was fast paced, full of ups and downs and with a great HEA. Nichole is definitely a one click for me now

Wow I had a hard time putting this one down. This is my first time reading a book by this author and all I can say is I’m glad I did.
