I read this because someone had put a sticky note in the library copy that said "Read to this point, STOP." I wanted to see if the STOP was some kind of mature content warning from a reader, or something different.
Turns out there is no mature content, but it's just not a great book. Very straightforward, some stereotypical characters but no description, literary devices, suspense, surprise, or depth. I guess it's intended to be hi/lo so that's may be the point. I didn't find it very high interest.
Some of the passages made me actually roll my eyes, like this one about the love interest Joni Landers: "She ate mostly salads, which accounted, partially, for her beautiful figure." Sheesh.

I thought it was not that interesting of a book because the way it was written. Maybe if I was in fifth grade I would have enjoyed it but because im older it was not that very interesting of a book.
The reason for that being was because it was written so that even someone as little as ten can understand without being confused. I guess I would recommend it older elementary schooled kids but not people in my grade level.
