The Adventures of a Pincushion, Designed Chiefly for the Use of Young Ladies
Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

I’m a sucker for wholesome moral children’s literature, of which this is a fine example. It makes me want to read some earlier it narratives (since it seems to be poking fun at some of their conventions), and some moral literature about badly-behaved gentility — this book frequently says that ill manners are equally reprehensible in the upper classes, but doesn’t actually depict them. I’m very curious about whether the illustrations were made specifically for this book, or whether the story was in part written around the illustrations.
