If you enjoyed Ms. McCarver's book All You Want For Christmas you will fall in love all over again as Alec and Mary's love story continues...
Mary Christmas, a thirty something overweight executive assistant who is clueless to her appeal is discovering falling in love over and over again with business mogul Alec Mercer was the easy part. Loving a public figure isn't. When a marriage proposal is on the table, building and blending your lives and families together is expected but can a relationship be sustained when others are working against you?
Will it be impossible to bring together two cultures, two sets of dreams, two personalities and two single-minded lifestyles when reality bites? Will love be strong enough to strengthen the relationship of opposites and catapult them to the matrimony or will Alec and Mary become just another interracial couple conforming to the will of others and live the rest of their lives wondering what could have been?
Alabama native Shiree McCarver is a freelance writer, poet and singer-lyricist. Writer of Interracial tales of romance in historical and contemporary settings, Ms. McCarver has written over eight novels. Her scope ranges from the Elizabethan period to modern day Tokyo. Ms. McCarver is quickly becoming best known for utilizing Asian males in romantic leading roles along with realistic less then perfect heroines. Her stories rips and repairs your heart like no other.
I am loving this story, I'm almost finished. I'll be finishing tonite. Alec and Mary are such a wonderful couple and you cheer for them through out the book. You will root for this couple from beginning to end. Shiree does it again. This is a great sequel to All I Want For Christmas. Shiree, even though I bought the ebook, so I could read it now, I'll be buying the print too. Guess I'll be buying the print. This was one of the best books I've read in a very long time. Alec and Mary's love for each other just jumped off the page. Shiree just may have to write a follow-up to this story.
Mary Christmas is not your typical heroine. She is overweight, wears glasses and has health issues that would send most men running. Alec is obviously not most men. This confirmed bachelor fell head over heels for Mary. There were bumps along the way, but the love each had for the other was always apparent. I applaud Ms. McCarver for not using the usual "light skinned, long hair, flawless beauty." Other authors take note .... average women love reading about average heroines that have HEA's!
