"I have not seen a better or more compelling resource for educators looking to elevate communication and ultimately the engagement of every family.” —Dr. Steve Constantino Nationally Recognized Family Engagement Expert and Best-Selling Author Executive Professor, William & Mary School of Education
Finished this nice little read last night—a powerful and practical guide to school-home communication.
My takeaways are: * Attitude, assumptions, tone, and body language matter—a lot. * Challenging conversations are opportunities to understand and build relationships. * We all need to simplify, clarify, and be precise in what we are saying so everyone understands what we are talking about.
This is an easy-to-read book on communicating with parents and caregivers. While the content seems pretty straightforward and common sense, it is often overlooked when educations create (often one-way) communication. Highly suggest for anyone in education who is looking to step up their communication game with families!
