Jonathan Nield did a good job explaining the importance and benefit of historical fiction. He also provided great warning regarding this genre of books are in fact fiction, an elaboration of the truth or adding one's imagination to an actual person. I will reference this book to find my next read and thankful a list was provided for young readers as well. he was kind enough to make a list for boys and another for girls.
Treasure-trove for old historical novels. Since this book was written in 1902, every book listed is in the public domain. I downloaded many that sounded interesting, from both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. All were free, and most I had not run across before.
