Hard to rate because it was difficult to read, but I'm also very glad that I read it. Great insight into Namibian exile life.

It's a very inspiring, interestig and educating book. I learned a lot interms of religious references, importance of interacting with others and the real meaning of patiency. All and all the the theme price of freedom which creates clear imagery of the brutality of south Afican deffence force and SWATF for instance the narration of cassinga massacre. In spite of changes in years and use of variety languages which some of us could not understand, the book deserve a thumb up

This is a great short book about Namibia's fight for independence and the experience of a refugee returning to her country.

super candid and vulnerable account of experience as a child in exile during namibia liberation struggle. ndeshi writes about her reasoning for writing this and that it gave her purpose post-independence to tell a unique story for others with similar experiences. total badass that stayed determined to finish school and find her identity in namibia despite almost no support from those around her as a refugee or returnee to the country. she’s a very engaging storyteller and writes like she’s speaking to you.

The model on which all subsequent Namibian exile narratives have been based.
