Not Much about Angel Numbers

An Audiobook Review
While I've been a student of metaphysics and the occult for decades, it is only within the last few years that I've heard about angel numbers. I was curious to learn more about them, so when I saw this audiobook on a book review site, I had to snap it up. Unfortunately, I found it exceedingly disappointing. I believe that any nonfiction book should promise the reader, with the blurb, title, and subtitle, what is going to deliver, and then the book should deliver on that promise. This book did not. It seemed to be about a lot of metaphysical topics, from the law of attraction to numerology to manifestation to universal laws and even candle and moon magic! (Which Christians who believe in angels may not appreciate!) The author did not draw strong enough parallels between these tangential topics and angel numbers. In fact, very little of the book seemed to actually be about angel numbers. The first few chapters, as I was listening, I was wondering when she would start talking about them. She finally got to a chapter title that sounded promising, but that had to do with other peripheral topics like why you might not see angel numbers. You should talk about angel numbers before you discuss why you might not see them! This book seems more about straight-up numerology and manifestation than angel numbers. Since this is an audiobook, it would also have been nice if the author included a downloadable PDF with pages for you to calculate the numerological numbers based on your name. I found them unwieldy to figure out without a worksheet; I had to pause and rewind the audiobook multiple times. Quite annoying. If you have an interest in the angel numbers, I suggest you find a book that actually focuses on them, not just promises that it does.

This book provides a good basic, thorough explanation regarding numbers and numerology. I still don't quite understand angel numbers. I'd like more in-depth information on Pythagorean theory (on which the author states she'll focus), and there are some missing pieces for me. Overall, it's a good read that's true to its title.
