Maybe 2.5 stars. No index . No tutorial. No exercises. Very slim ... 207 pages of very widely spaced lines ... so probably would normally be a 100 page manual. the procreate.com website has a very rich live (youtube) tutorial ... but so much info is conveyed during the live tutorial and done so with extreme rapidity. Even though I played it at 0.75 speed, I was constantly having to stop every few minutes (or seconds) to replay to try to replicate the results of the tutor, and not always succeeding no matter how often I tried. Also, throughout the online tutorial - which was pretty comprehensive - you still get the feeling that there is even lots more info to be had. No doubt my fault, so I thought a book approach would also be very helpful. Probably the right book would be. Not so much this book by McGinn (although, as I work through it, if I do find it helpful I'll revise this review). There must be better books out there ... containing practice exercises, and more in-depth info accessible via an index.
