Christmas is one of those holidays most people love. Some get to see family and friends they haven’t seen in years, then there are those who have to spend their holidays alone or working. Jhersey Rucker is a black woman from Seattle, Washington, who was swept off her feet by a man named Marcel. That is, until his secret life becomes not so secret anymore. When it’s all said and done, Jhersey Rucker was much like every other young woman looking for her happily ever after with a man who loves her endlessly. Her world is shaken up when reality comes crashing down, and she’s left trying to find herself, her worth, and left with no choice but to reinvent herself. When the rug is snatched from beneath her, she’s left to find real answers.

Okay Aja! You out here crafting angels in the form of book baes ma'am! 😂 Denim was it for sure! He happened to be in the right place at the right time, to rescue Jhersey from an assault by her "man" Marcel! 🤡 Seeing that she had nowhere to go, and was terrified, he offered to let her stay with him. She needed time to get on her feet, as she was traumatized and broken, after her ordeal. Was Denim a standup guy for doing this? Yes, he was. Did he have an ulterior motive for doing so? Yes, he did. 😂 He wanted Jhersey something serious, from the first time he laid eyes on her, but she was taken at the time. Denim sat back and allowed Jhersey to heal and focus on herself, until she became whole again. He knew that his time would come, but he had to let her lead. Now, what Denim did to Marcel was a bit suspect, but okay! Jhersey, Jhersey, Jhersey! Girl, when a man shows you who he is believe him! You ignored all the red flags in the name of love! No worries though, Denim slid right on in to pick up the pieces! Good quick read! 👍👍👍

Sweet and just a little deranged.
I really enjoyed reading how Jhersy took the time to get her life back on track. Denim was patient and kind with her and was just the peace she needed. However, I'm a little afraid of a person that can and will do the things he did in the name of retribution. I mean, everything was for his lady love, but it was a little much.
I loved the message of this story to take time and heal and it's never too late to go back home.
I really enjoyed reading how Jhersy took the time to get her life back on track. Denim was patient and kind with her and was just the peace she needed. Tis' the season to be happy....
This short read left me yearning for more on Denim and Jhersey. This story is the true meaning of the season. The season to love and to give rather than receive. Denim saved Jhersey's life in a rage from her ex-boyfriend. Her ex was psychotic however Denim made sure he knew how it felt to put his hands on a woman. Marcel's karma came back ten folds. I loved the respectful man that Denim was. He made sure that Jhersey was on a path of healing. He didn't ask her for any money for his place. He respected his boundaries all while love was brewing between the two of them. It was so admirable when he flew with her to go see her family. He stood ten toes down for Jhersey. Jersey got to experience the true love of a real man. She deserved every millisecond of it. Denim made her incredibly happy.
Ms. Aja, I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday short. You can feel free to give us an update on this couple anytime. This is the second holiday short I read by Ms. Aja this year. She is dropping masterpieces, get into them they are just enough to wet your palette.

Sometimes bad things happen in order for the bigger blessing to flow right on in. In Jhersey’s case that blessing was everything and more that she needed. Denim was everything that a full grown man should be. A short and sweet tale of love under new Christmas cheer.

I’d like to order me a Marcel please…
I love a rescue, heroic, save me story and this one made my heart smile. Denim is that man, he’s fine, established, sexy, ready handle whoever and whatever needs handling. He has a kind heart with a soft spot for a damsel or shall I say two damsels in distress. Jhersey is lost, has nothing and life has her on the run, until Demin steps in and the things he does for a complete stranger had me swooning. I immediately feel the chemistry and the tension they exhibit with each other trying to fight the obvious sexual tension to a build up so hot that when it climaxes, the fire is felt everywhere.
A sweet and lovable read with a little drama and suspense lurking that’ll keep you engaged and entertained. I enjoyed this holiday short and definitely recommend you make it your next 1 click.

This story may be short, but the emotions? So real. So full. Aja Cornish knows how to write love that feels earned messy, beautiful, and wrapped in vulnerability.
Give Me You gave me everything I crave in a holiday romance: a little ache, a lot of heart, and a love that feels like coming home. It’s not just Christmas lights and snowflakes it’s two people choosing each other in a moment that matters most.
I honestly didn’t expect to feel so much in such a quick read but here I am, lowkey emotional and wanting to read it again.

A fairytale ending!!!
Jhersey and Denim did not meet in the typical way. No night out meeting or even social media. It was far from any typical meeting; however, the respect that Denim shows and has for Jhersey is nothing short of amazing! Throughout the weeks, their friendship and love blossomed into something beautiful! Who would have thought that a damsel and distress would turn into a delightful love story!

Denim!!!!
I liked the story, it was a bit heavier than I was expecting but I enjoyed it! Also, I don’t know if I’d call it a Christmas story just because it didn’t really take place during Christmas. I would have loved more Holly jolly vibes. I LOVE Denim….that’s a good man! I appreciate the fact that both Jherzey and Denim wanted her to heal before jumping into anything. They built a solid friendship first and I enjoyed being able to see that!

I enjoyed every moment of this Christmas short story. Denim is definitely bae through and through though. Jerzey definitely went through something that would break someone else! I loved the gems of wisdom found throughout the story as well to lead the characters in the right direction!! Great way to start the Christmas book season off!!

Healed hearts and Christmas trees
Jhersey’s story really touched me. She really just wanted better for herself after leaving that horribly abusive relationship with that dog. Marcel was such a good friend and so patient with Jhersey. These two definitely got my heart in the mood for Christmas .

A sweet steamy slow burn read. Jhersey and Denim's story was so special. As a neighbor, Denim came to Jhersey's rescue at such a low point in her life. She rebuilt herself piece by piece with his help. They embraced each other at their own pace. It was beautiful!

This was short and a little wild read, but a good time nonetheless! Jhersey after being publicly assaulted by her "man" Marcel, is rescued by Denim! Now, Denim is a little crazy, but he takes good care of our girl Jhersey and helps get her back on her feet, all while taking care of her dirty laundry. Denim was a kind and patient man, but when Jhersey was ready for him - Denim was on her like a lion pouncing! I really like that the story had a redemption arc for Jhersey without her just jumping to bed with the first man who showed her kindness... LOL. A quick read, but I enjoyed it a lot! :) I loved the Christmas elements and just how the story unfolded!

The character development for the FMC, Jhersey, was good too. If you’re sensitive to DV narratives, then, this may not be the novella for you.
