Stephen Bricston Woodward is a complicated man. Born into one of the wealthiest families in New York, Stephen, or as he is known to family and friends “Brick” is the epitome of a white man of privilege. He married rich, abided by the family rules, and even managed to have the standard two children and a dog. With all the riches, material possessions, and power that came along with running the family empire, there wasn’t much that Brick longed for, needed, or desired. That was until his membership to the infamous Phoenix Gentleman’s Club open his eyes to a new world of pleasure. Brick’s desire to be serviced and dominate over women went from fascination to reality as his fantasy began to play out in real life. The only caveat, all his submissives must be of a lower class. Brick had always been a philanthropist; he saw his fetish as a way to give back to the women he dominated. They would service him sexually, and in return, he would bless them with riches and material things. He would even go as far as elevating them up to a suitable standard so that they could attract a man that could provide for them with the lifestyle he was showing them. Brick had everything he wanted in life until a chance meeting with his Business Banker changed everything. For Brick, interracial relationships were too taboo to consider. But one look at Apryl Sharpe changed all that. Obsessed with his desire to dominate Apryl, Brick embarks on a quest to make Apryl his. Little did he know, that this course of action will jeopardize everything.

First off I have to say this books plot is really good and the flipping sex was sexy and rauchy just like I like it. Brick's wife Darcy I literally wanted to punch lol... There were some grammatical errors, but nothing that took away from the plot. The ending and the segway to the second book "The Banker" omfg you better come through with that amazing cliffhanger. Now I'm ready for the second book.
THE DOM by A. A. Lewis isn't just your average book; it's a spicy dive into the male mind on love, lust, and the wild world where money, power, and respect is the key to life, and dominance and control reign supreme! The author beautifully captures Brick's cocky charm as he swoops in on Apryl, purposely invading her life, leading her into a whirlwind of submission, obedience, lust, kink, and play as her dominant who loves to be called Lord.
Apryl, the bold explorer who’s green, found herself surprised when Brick presents her with The Proposal that ignited her curiosity and added a dash of spice, empowerment and adventure to her life. Her submission is his obsession and she’s rewarded for her obedience.
This story was drama-full yet enticing. The scenes were seductive, sexy, erotic and well depicted having me falling into the pages lost in their story. The Dom snuck up on me as the world of BDSM opened up and invited me into a place of unexpected twists but also had me emotional and furious in the end.
This story does ends on a cliff hanger but a salacious read you must experience. Now to Book 2, The Banker…
For a good while, I considered this a solid 3.5, but the epilogue pushed it up to a 4 for me. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this book!
The story follows Brick, a wealthy, middle-aged white man stuck in a sexless and loveless marriage. Seeking satisfaction outside his marriage, he meets Apryl, a young, successful Black banker. The moment he meets her, he knows he has to have her, and once he does, he introduces her to his world.
In the first half of the book, Brick annoyed me immensely. He embodied the stereotype of a wealthy old white man fetishizing Black women, and some of the things he said were outrageous. However, as the story progressed, he grew on me because it became clear he was genuinely enamored with Apryl. His wife, on the other hand, played her role to perfection. The epilogue really caught me off guard, and now I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
By day, Apryl was a business Banker, at night, she was a sub to one riches man in the world. When Bricksont first laid eyes on Apryl, he wanted her and set out to get her. What he wanted her for became more than it was supposed to be. He did for her what he did for his past subs, but what he didn't expect was to fall in love. When his nasty old bitter wife found out what he was up to. She told him it was his life or hers and you know what he chose. I was not ready for the book, and I'm so ready for book 2. Brick and Apryl together was wrong, but oh, so right at the same time. He gave her what she always wanted in life, everything she wanted, and she gave him what he always wanted love and recognition. I couldn't stand Darcy, and I hope she gets what she deserves. A. A. you did your thing yet again, and I can't wait to see what's next!!!
A.A. Lewis is a new ✍🏼 for me & I absolutely 😍The Dom🙌🏽This is a rare romance novel , in that the story is told from the male POV , which was so satisfying🥳 —A real treat to experience the male perspective , which is often glossed over in romance 📚As much as I loved this book , I hated the ending , as I was so rooting for a HEA 🥲I’m so disappointed right now & I hope there will be additional books in the series that will provide a more palatable conclusion🤷🏽♀️Happy Reading🍷
If Mrs Lewis don’t give you nothing else, she gonna give you some good drama in ALL her books.
Apryl and Brick had me intrigued. And when Brick fell for the banker, he fell HARD. Not hard enough to give that privilege up though, lol. The fact that he underestimated his wife ended up being his greatest downfall; can’t have your cake and live happily ever after. Or can you?
Lemme go read Apryl’s story. Great job as always, A.A.!
This was an intriguing, sensually, and unputdownable book. The author was a first-time read for me, and she definitely captivated me from the beginning. It does end in a cliffhanger. The grammatical errors cause reading to not be as smooth, but despite this, the book is amazing! I look forward to the conclusion.
Brick was obsessed with April. For a moment I forgot that this was written by a woman, because it felt like it was from the male’s perspective. I wanted more! The way it ended and the glimpse into the next book was smart. I need the rest of the series now!
This was my first time reading this author's work and I enjoyed it. There were editing errors but nothing that took away from the story. Apryl and Brick got into an arrangement that ended up a lot more. And things just got a little more interesting at the end.
I enjoy reading new to me, authors, but I love when they surprises you. The Dom was good and messy. Brick aka Lord is nine inches of sin. April is beautiful smart intelligent I love her sexyness. The wife can go to Hell. This book was so good.
