That Darkened Doorstep

"With stories that feel ripped from the pages of EC Comics or from the celluloid veins of Creepshow, That Darkened Doorstep takes you on a journey to the depths of relationships gone sour, unearthly shadows, technological betrayal, and beyond. The icy hells crafted in this anthology will chill you to the bone." —Robert P. Ottone, author of Her Infernal Name & Other Nightmares and The Rise trilogy.

"That Darkened Doorstep is a powerful collection of chilling stories. The uneasy wonder and visceral terror in these tales will haunt me for some time. What a range of uncanny, alluring, unsettling dark fiction." —Richard Thomas, author of Spontaneous Human Combustion, and Bram Stoker Award®nominee

“With haunted houses, curses and spells, and a cohort of long-lost souls, That Darkened Doorstep features twenty uncanny tales of the unwary and the unexpected, editor Catherine Jordan bringing together emerging and established writers in a delightful cornucopia of creepiness.”—Lee Murray, USA Today Bestselling author and four-time Bram Stoker Award® winner.

“THAT DARKENED DOORSTEP offers up stories with real bite. Dark indeed … and also wildly entertaining and with a variety of compelling literary voices. Twisted fun and highly recommended!” —Jonathan Maberry, NY Times bestselling author of V-WARS and RELENTLESS

“Thrilling and frightful and filled with dark wonders, THAT DARKENED DOORSTEP is the type of horror anthology that leaves readers wishing for more.” —Eric J. Guignard, award-winning author and editor, including That Which Grows Wild and Doorways to the Deadeye

"The first story, 'Seeking a Good Woman' by Jacque E. Day, nailed me and the rest kept the hits coming. A terrific anthology with a strong female presence--something we definitely need right now." —Bram Stoker Award®-nominated author Carol Gyzander

I won this Anthology in an fb group and as soon as I received it, I dove right in. I absolutely Anthologies! This one contains 20 short horror/scary stories by (mostly) to me unknown authors. The theme of this Anthology is a darkened doorstep/unopened doors or a interpretation of the theme. The stories are scary, bizarre, dreamlike, thrilling, frightful, twisted, dark, haunting, and sinister.

I highly recommend this one to anyone who loves reading horror Anthologies or just loves reading unsettling things.

An anthology of writers in differing genres. The focus here is sci-if or horror or tragedy. It starts strong with “Seeking a Good Woman.” “Primal Scream” is short but gets to you. “Dismantled” is timely. “Ashes to Ashes” has religion.
It ends with a short story by Louisa May Alcott.
