I have read 36 pages of this book so far and have found it to be very interesting. It apparently was written 1-2 years ago and yet the future history it portrays seems prescient. The fictional portrayal of an alternate United States where debate about the Federal Reserve and the gold standard has reached critical mass is a compelling one.

So compelling is this portrayal of what might come to pass that I am again thinking that it might - just might - be possible for a libertarian to be elected President in 2012.

The book is well written, free of typos, short at 92 pages and even includes a short glossary so that those not familiar with monetary topics can educate themselves and enjoy this political tale.

In the real world no too dissimilar from the book Ron Paul's HR 1207 bill to audit the Federal Reserve along with Bernie Sanders' S 604 companion bill are steadily adding 3-5 cosponsors each and every week.

While certainly not necessary to enjoy this book Thomas E. Woods Jr's book Meltdown: A Free-Market Look at Why the Stock Market Collapsed the Economy Tanked and the Government Bailout Will Make Things Worse does a great job of explaining how the US economy has reached its current state.

An informational look at our political economy through the eyes of a true laissez-faire libertarian.
