Around the way girls 3 is a book that includes multiple stories. One story that really stuck out to me was the story about two sister named Stacey and Stephanie. Both of the sisters go by there aliases, which are Sugar and Candy. If you are someone who enjoys a good bit of drama I recommend this book to you. It is filled with deception, lies and betrayal. The character that stuck out to me the most would have to be Nikki, Candy's ex best friend. The reason why I liked her so much is Candy used her to get want she wanted out of her, so Nikki took revenge with the help of her friend Reno, who was also involved in the scheme used against Nikki. My least favorite character would have to be Candy because she has no type of morals or values for herself. Candy is a very selfish person and will do anything and everything to get what she wants. This girl would sell mothers soul if it was going to bring her what she wanted. The intentions of the author to me were to allow the reader to figure out why the characters act as they do. The potion of the book that captivated my attention was when Blue(Sugar's sweetheart) asked her to move with him and I couldn't wait for Sugar's reaction. The thing that kept me reading the book was the deceitful personalities of the characters. Although they were so deceitful, I still wasn't able to predict the ending of this book. If this book was made into a movie, I would pay to see. The actors that I would like to star in the movie would have to be someone who does not have a big name but could act really well. The emotions that I felt in this book would have to be the same as the ones I felt while reading this book. While reading this book, I felt how she felt when her sisters, her blood sat there and betrayed her. The line that she used when she found this out was "You were just up on my man" which was said by Sugar.
Around the way grils is was the first urban book i read , it had 3 diffrent stories in it my favorite storie was the life of Juicy Brown. Juicy had 3 kids by the time she was 17 then came another 2 before age 20. Juicy had been sent up north to New york to live with her aunt and uncle who spoiled her to death and didn't realyl help juicy to become anymore responsible then she was before she came up there infact thats where she had her other 2 kids. eventually gettin tired of Juicy her aunt and uncle sent her back to live with her mom. Juicy was then angry and decied she couldn't count on anyone and took her 5 kids and got on wellfare.
I didn't like the factthat in this book juicy never decied to grow up, her kids always called her juciy and never mom. i just think after your first kid it's time to grow up but by the time you have five you should be grown! Things aren't just about you anymore it's about your kids and i'm sure juicy would haven done anything for her kids but she was never truely a good mother. she even robbed her dsughters job just so she could pay back welfare.
Candy cane & Sugar: they’re twins, Candy slings dope and gets Cane beat up over it. The guy who sticks her up says Candy knows she’s sleeping with her man—yet Candy denies it, calling her a dyke anyway. Their mom is proper and caring so has no idea about any of this. They each threaten to tell their mom the truth about the either but keep backing down. Good sisterly and violent tension. General Hospital vibes. “Quit actin’ stank-a-dank” is so funny. There are a few too many cliches but it’s a fun, surprisingly light-hearted conflict there. Then the hesvier ones unfold of relationship drama, a lesbian predator, and get rich quick schemes.
The next story is overloaded with exposition like non-fiction. Omg, and there’s a long in-story ad about the MC loving Girls in Da Hood and their own other books. It would be funnier if the writing wasn’t like a long summary or list of wants instead of a story. The MC is also a writer, a trope I hate and is so overdone. Some of the sayings Make me laugh and the plot of her seducing her dad’s rival and mentally making fun of his hovel. The story ends a weird place. I didn’t think it was over so will there be part 2?
The last story is about an addicted prostitute willing to risk her life for $10. Loosely linked POVs like siblings, avengers, her former self. The emotional pulling are well-done.
This book is titled Around the way girls 3 by Alisha Yvonne, Pat Tucker, and Thomas Long. The book is a fiction. The main theme of the story is if you are a person who is high and big in the game get out of it while you can before it’s too late.
This Book is about three different short stories that consist of twins and their roles they play in the game. The first short story by Alisha Yvonne is about two twin’s nick- named Candy and Sugar. Both candy and sugar loved each other but couldn’t stand one another. One was about the game while the other was just a bum waiting for the money to come to her or do some extra work to get hers. They will eventually come to the real reasons as to why they do not like each other. The second short-story by Pat Tucker is about two twin girls named Tamia, and Tamara who’s farther taught them about the game Their farther was so excited about the fact that he had twin seeds and decided to teach them about the game as they grew. The farther ended up in jail. The girls grew up with out their farther. Candy and sugar took the game in to their own hands and make a lot of money but they end up getting tricked for their success. Would it be too late? The third story by Thomas Long is about two twin girls who have never got along but one of the twins took upon liking her younger sister more. Alex ended up running away just as twin but they both didn’t know they’d be in two completely different outcomes. Alex ended up being a dead hooker due to her actions. The twins join together and forget their differences to find their baby sister’s killer. What will they find?
The book was a very Eye-catching and Jaw-dropping experience. Some parts told of things that i never thought would happen in the game such as woman playing an important part of the game. I would have never expected that in all the years that i have lived, and honestly a lot of females in the game are not that powerful so this is how I know it is a fiction. The book told of many descriptive details that made me feel the pain and agony for all characters. There was one character that I had it out for since the Ending of the book, her name was Alex. She was my favorite character because she reminds me of myself and my mother. We go trough the same exact thing. She offers me the door but yet I stay so I can feel Alex’s pain. I was very confused as to why Alex didn’t call her sister when she needed help because they were so close and loved each other. If I was I her situation I would’ve called my sister. In a way reading this book has taken atoll on me. It’s opened my imagination as of to what other things us females can do.
I would recommend this book to teenagers, Strong-minded females with ambition, and adults, and females who are in the game now. However i would not recommend this book for a read out-loud to little kids because some details are just too explicit for kids to understand. I have never read a book like this so maybe that’s why I like it so much.
The only reason I gave this book one star is because there is no option for negative points. In addition to being morally bankrupt to a shocking degree, the writing itself is so technically bad (and filled with typos) that I have a hard time believing that this is not some kind of elaborate joke being played on people who can actually discern what good writing is. The characters are repellent, the plots are sketchy at best and horrifically unbelievable at worst, and the (hopefully) unintentional cheerleading being done for thug culture made me want to start vomiting and never stop. The only audience I can think of for "works" such as these are people who flip through, say aloud "Thank God my life is nothing like that of the people in this book," and then throw it in the recycling bin where it belongs. Without a doubt, this is the worst book I have ever read, and that's saying something.
It was kinda boring I wanted to stop on the 2nd book but I don’t believe in not finishing a book all the way through The 1st book ended was dumb af The 2nd book was ok The 3rd was jumpy from different plots nothing really went together
I learned when guys become involved between two girls, it can further complicated issues for them. I saw the that the aurthor used twins in the storyline, and often referenced to their needs to deferentiate themselves from each other. One of them main issue was gay-ness, it seemed like the sisters seemed to turn to that when they could not deal with each other. That taught me alot about how most girls, not just sisters, retailate to such peer pressures. The aurthor does a decent jobs of making the men also look realistic, eventhough the main focus is on the sisters.
This book is interesting to me because my godsister also read the book .She wanted me to read the book because of the different types of books I always ask to read from her .This book is about a part of town the two twin sisters come from . Where they are from its called around the way girls . Sugar Cane and Candy Cane are twenty-four year old identical twin from arount the way .Lets just say they arent as sweet as their names .People know them also know them as double trouble .The Canes have a love/hate relashoship.
There really isn't much I can say about the book or the stories. The one by Pat Tucker could have been much better in my opinion. Alisha Yvonne's story was the best I think Thomas Long's had a lot of potential had it been full length. Reading Long's story did get me a little excited to go on to one of his full length books which I'll have to do soon. I would only recommend the entire series for those who like short stories- otherwise you'll be frustrated.
This Book was so good! im talking about a serious PAGE TURNER,all stories was good but my favorites were the FIRST TWO stories, they had me wanting more...The last one was okay but it wasn't just all that like the first two with Sugar and Candy Cane, and Tamara and Tamia!
This was the first Around The Way Girls book. I love reading about Sugar & Candy Kane. There story was so interesting & had me shaking my head !!!! I highly think they deserve a sequel. I remember watching an episode of Judge Mathis & there was twins on there names Jasmin & Jaslin Hiton (l0l) who had the same type of relationship Candy & Sugar.
This book is very good, out of all of the others this has to be my favorite book of AROUND THE WAY GIRLS. This book was about sets of twins who do bad things to each othr. They also are in gangs and do drugs and do bad things with there life.
Around the Way Girls 3/ Double Trouble like it's predecessor is a fast paced look at the life of some street smart woman who think they know it all but are about to get the lessons of their lives
Just know after this one, I gave up on the others that followed this series. 1&2 were great and this one kinda lost me abit but I finished so I'm giving it a 3.
