Patrice Newell was born in Adelaide and now runs a farm near Gundy, New South Wales, which produces biodynamic beef, olive oil and garlic. She lives with her partner Phillip Adams and their daughter Aurora.
first book of the year and my first non-fiction read in many years (or ever? i don't remember). i know a lot of people said this was pedestrian or boring, but i found it really approachable and not overly intellectual. the subject matter was somewhat relevant to my work, so i found it enlightening. was good to just read some chill, slow paced australian true story.
also started reading this while camping up at Oven's River, so it felt really immersive.
An enjoyable book where having some knowledge or interest in the Scone/Gundy area is probably a must. As we were once considering a property in Scone I fell, however tenuously, into this category.
A nonfiction description of the Pages River area in NSW, Australia; Newell runs an organic farm and grows olives. Some interesting material on water issues, but rather pedestrian, I thought.
