Still good, yes. -But so sad despite it's title!! River of Joy had some profound lessons, the theme of the story was quite good. Nice historical retelling of Indians being pushed back into the white man's reservations for them... BUT, so, so sad!! In the beginning of the book, we are met with an unfathomable tragedy. And I'm afraid the ending was much different than I had anticipated. So... I just have to say, River of Joy can't compare with Tachechana, which it is a sequel to. Tachechana was amazing... I wish the story could have continued the same in River of Joy; but there was one big change that changed... everything.
So, good story. But... sad. -Not how I would have written the story.
