While this is not the Little Critters I remember reading growing up, this is a great starter book for those just learning how to read. The Matching and other games at the end were engaging for my son.

This is a Level 1 reader, very easy reading. It is an ice skating day and Little Critter skates in different ways with various family members and friends. Great illustrations. In the back of the book are things for the young reader to do: Word List (words to find in the story); Matching (items to match to make pairs); The Long A Sound (identifying words with the long A sound); Logical Reasoning (with clues from the story); Action Match (matching the action word to the picture); Use Your Brain! (Fun questions to answer abut the story.)
