I give this book 4 stars because Sam has the courage to tell his story. I have many Amish friend and know their culture. Knowing them made this very interesting. An Amish man recommended it to me. As an author I did find a few errors which I disregard and concentrated on the content. I have my own experience with the justice system and can empathize with Sam. It is shocking Sam was treated the way he was, when my wife and I came under violent middle of the night attack by a druggie and the perp was let off pretty much free. Our justice system is broke.

I just finished reading “A Good Life Interrupted”, by Sam Girod. This is a heartbreaking account of a hardworking, honest man who, in my opinion, was unnecessarily punished for selling an Amish herbal remedy. It's a fascinating and frustrating look into how much power the unelected bureaucratic machine, the FDA, wields over citizens. Eph 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

It was an interesting read. Definitely, sheds light on government bureaucracy. I am glad he told his story, and it definitely shows how our justice system is broken.
