Jamie Chin is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), mother, wife, and author who writes classic children’s books with positive messages. It’s this background that provides Jamie with endless inspiration for her picture books from both her family and her young clients.

Dear Daughter and Dear Daughter, Love Dad were written, with her own daughters in mind, to show girls that they are loved unconditionally and that they are perfect just the way they are, particularly in today’s social media landscape. With Look for the Magic, Jamie had her young clients in mind, sharing messages of self-esteem, mindfulness, and living in the moment. All timeless messages that children should hear every day.

Jamie believes a great book is one that is relatable and builds connection with the reader. She hopes her young readers come away from her stories feeling uplifted and reassured, cherished and loved, and that this feeling stays with them long after the book is closed.

Jamie also just published Free Yourself From Shyness & Social Anxiety, a self-help book to instill confidence in those who are ready for change.

When she isn’t writing, Jamie loves spending time with her adult daughters, being in nature, watching movies in her sweats, and traveling with her husband. They live in Northern California.

In a world full of colors, a little girl explores. The whole universe awaits her, and every day is full of magic. Join the adventure as a caring father celebrates the brightest star in any sky – his precious daughter!
Dear Daughter, Love, Dad by Jamie Chin is a splendid rhyming tale of empowerment and parental love. Whimsical illustrations by Alena Karabach fill each page with color and life as the little girl explores her world. Told through the eyes of a loving father, each page is a special message to embrace who we are and treasure the magic within ourselves. There is no need for perfection or measuring up to an impossible ideal. Instead, each page gently says “I love you for who you are" while powerfully sharing the importance of each unique soul. No one else is who you are, and who you are is beautiful.
A meaningful combination of charming art and a message of unconditional acceptance earns this book a stunning five out of five stars. In a world where pressures and perfectionism pervade, this tale of family and self-love flawlessly shows that just being who we are is always enough. And we are more than just enough. Each one of us absolutely incredible!
Though written specifically for fathers and daughters, this lovely book has the power to reach a much wider audience. Suitable for readers of all ages, its compact rhyming format makes it ideal for reading together at bedtime or even in a group setting. A timeless tale that touches the heart, this story of a father’s love for his daughter is a perfect choice for anyone and everyone who just needs to be reminded that they are unique, amazing, and absolutely indispensable.

Delightful

Though I am an adult daughter, I read this book with my Father’s voice in my mind. It is a wonderful book for Fathers to give their daughters positive ideas about themselves. It can also give ideas for starting points if a Father wants to talk about something in their child’s day.
