Dog people adore their dogs. Friends of mine just got a new puppy who when we visited was more entertaining than watching a circus. I don’t currently have a dog and my excuse is my lifestyle. I won’t board a dog and I won’t crate them like air freight. I guess part of the motivation of this story is there are days I miss my dogs. I get my doggy fix by embracing Paul, a golden who appears to think he is the mayor of our small community. Paul stops and provides affection and doggie groans to any who miss their dog. Lisa Gets A Dog is for all those kids who haven’t gotten their dog yet.
Horace is a misfit bichon frise. He is different looking. Abandoned, he just wants a loving home. Lisa wants a dog. This is their story.
I am currently working hard as an author, my 4th career. I owned and operated a convenience store for 10 years and a computer networking company for 25 years. I was a school teacher and counselor in the public schools. I am a proud husband, father and grandfather. I am someone who cares about the people around me, who wants to improve the society we all live in, who hopes on a daily basis to leave the planet a little better than it was the previous day and who is cognizant that the impact I have on the world is minimal. Tilting at windmills is a part of my character as is a deep love for all those who need to be loved. In my own mind I am a complex, multi-layered, unique character in the kaleidoscoping drama of life.
