What do you do when Friday’s one-night stand becomes Monday morning’s biggest regret?

When plus-size conditioning coach, Eleanor Bigsby, takes on the task of working with her father’s professional soccer team, the last thing she expects is to come face-to-face with the man whose house she crept out of after one night of mind-blowing passion.

Notorious playboy, Jensen West, is equally as known for his smooth moves on the soccer pitch as he is for his moves behind bedroom doors. When Eleanor reappears in his life, he’s determined to push her away by any means necessary.

But oil and water can only stay apart so long.

Testing the boundaries of work and play, the pair finds themselves battling workplace scandals, career aspirations, and even a jealous ex dead-set on tearing them apart.

There are more than the games being played on the field as Eleanor and Jensen redefine relationships, coming together to prove that when love is involved, nothing can get in the way.

Because after all, isn’t life just one big, beautiful game?

Beautiful Games is a first in series steamy sports romance that can be read as a standalone. Intended for mature audiences, if you prefer your romance clean, you'll want to skip this story.

ARC Review of Beautiful Games by Amity Malcom

A sporty romance with a crazy ex, a curvy beauty, family issues and hot chemistry!

Jensen was just trying to make it through the season. After his last relationship - a crazy social media influencer with high expectations - he knew to stay away from that kind of drama. He was already struggling with the new female coach coming on board.
Going out on the town, he did not expect to see the red headed beauty, 'Curves with a capital C', and a hot night to remember.
Talk about a kick to the euphoria and a smack in the face of regret when his mysterious beautiful one night stand leaves him moments after a good time, her card a parting gift...and it turns out she is the coach he dreaded meeting.
Eleanor was pushing to make it in her career, knowing it was unusual for someone like her to be in her position. It was just going to be a lot harder now that her yummy one nighter is now in her care.
Steamy conflict, slamming of doors, crazy ex cows and hot scenes!

Enemies to lovers in a work environment where everyone is watching...hilariously complicated.
Dude, Jensen, my man, even in hindsight of your choice to dump your ex in a fancy restaurant...huge mistake my man! I've witnessed one of those in real life and WOWZERS it got ugly! I feel for you.
When Eleanor first mentions about how her sister trained into becoming a chef, getting taught for a year by one of the best and end up crying every day...I had flashbacks!
Liked the press snippets throughout!
Enjoyed the read!

great read

I’m not much of a soccer fan, but I love all the tropes in this book. It’s an excellent debut that I hope is to be followed by Ophelia’s book.

Tropes:
Forced proximity (coach and athlete)
Boss’s daughter
Age gap
Reformed bad boy/good girl
Secret relationship
ONS turned workplace romance
BBW

I appreciate the inclusion of the BBW stuff, but I eventually would like for the genre as a whole to get to the point that the FMC’s dress size isn’t an on-the-page issue or plot device.

I also really appreciate that the book doesn’t push babies or them having them in the epilogue. The only real bone of contention I have is the “black moment” near the end - it seemed pretty contrived, and I find it hard to believe that after everything she would have reacted so badly so quickly. But, other than that, it’s a sweet and super low-angst book. Safe. No cheating. HEA.

I absolutely loved Beautiful Games. It was such a good one night stand turned enemy turned lovers (should be a trope in and of itself) story. Elle is my favorite and she grows so much over the course of the story. Jensen is just yum 😋!!

Overall ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ and holy spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶.

Elle and Jay have a one night stand and then discover she’s his soccer team’s new strength and conditioning coach.

This was a cute read and I loved the plus sized representation.

The most unrealistic part of this book was the city of San Diego rallying around an MLS team. They couldn’t even get excited about the Chargers. There would be no yard signs and pennants for soccer. They’re lukewarm about the Padres. No one besides die hard hockey fans know about their AHL team.

Fast burn with tit slapping, some light face slapping, exhibitionism, mfm scene, toys, daddy kink, squirting, snowball, and spanking.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
POV: Dual 1st

Eleanor has the hottest night of her life after meeting a guy at a club, but sneaks out the next morning, leaving behind only her credit card. She thinks she'll never see the guy again until she walks into her new position as a conditioning coach with the San Diego Sol, her father's professional soccer team, and lo and behold but who's one of the players? Yep, it's Jensen, her hot ons. He doesn't look particularly happy to see her, nor is he particularly open to her being one of his coaches. Yikes.

Jensen used to be the golden boy of soccer. Some bad behavior, some bad performances on the field, though, and now he's playing for his life for a team in a league that certainly isn't the Premier League. He's just biding his time, watching his prime slipping past, and wondering where he's going next. Then a redhaired goddess sneaks past his defenses and tilts his world on its axis. But even he isn't stupid enough to hook up with his boss's boss's daughter, is he? To fall in love with the woman who snuck out the next morning?

Fun, witty and so freaking hot that it melted my Kindle, Beautiful Games is the kind of sports/enemies to lovers story I like best. A bad boy trying to reform, a sassy heroine trying to find her way in the sports world, and the most intense chemistry ever, a fun and sexy romance that has me wanting a lot more from this author.

If it is thrills you seek...

This review will be short and sweet. I never leave reviews, and while I know it's not great for my favorite authors I just can't be helped - I'm a speed reader. Constantly devouring books if the mood arises. I'm also not professional at book reviews but here goes!

Jensen is a masterpiece. He shapes up to be full of surprises and change and truly blossoms into a solid, spicy, spontaneous male counterpart to the bombshell that is Eleanor, and the trials they encounter. Not to the discredit of Eleanor, who offers her fire in ways unexpected as well. I do not typically LOVE sport based romances, though I was smitten with the evident bad boy atmosphere between these pages that so many of my favorite books share, and the author's individual and unique twists.

In all, I have and will again recommend Amity Malcolm books, and look forward to her works in the future.

I really enjoyed this book! Its my first from this author and it first came to my attention when one of the scenes ( the 🔥🔥🔥 one with cole) was shared in one of the facebook groups I'm in.

The characters were very likeable and it was nice to see a "plus size" character for a change. Elle and Jensen are absolute coupke goals and I loved watching their relationship develop.

The 🔥🔥 in this book was amazing and exactly how I like it. Rough, dirty and hot!!

Sports romance between playboy soccer player Jensen and conditioning coach Elle.

It wasn't a bad book, just lacked the depth of connection between the two MCs that I look for in a really good book. The story was good, the conflict made sense, and the steamy part were steamy. I just didn't particularly care for Jensen and didn't see the vulnerability I love when two fictional people really connect.

Steamy and absolutely hilarious. A little bit of enemies to lovers with some surprising scenes. I love the empowerment and growth of Eleanor and placing a character like her in a sports job was fantastic. Gives me a little hope that women will actually hold more of those roles in the future. Jensen is, well, he could pick me up in a club any night.

Beautiful Games by Amity Malcolm is a sweet contemporary sports romance. What starts as a super fun, super spontaneous one night stand, turns into a new co-worker relationship. I’ve not read many sports romances. But I enjoyed this one.

As per usual I was not sure what to expect reading a book from an author that is new to me. I’m still trying to digest how I felt about this book and I’m still not really sure how I feel about it.

Jensen is a professional soccer player who has seen better days. His playboy actions for him into trouble and playing for a team he didn’t really care for. He goes out clubbing with his teammates one night and sees the most beautiful woman and just knows he has to take her home.

Elenor or Elle, is approached by an attractive man who takes her home with him. They seem to enjoy their time together but she leaves quickly after without a word. Little did she know she left her debit card behind and that not only will it be returned to her, but it will be returned to her on her first day at her new job as the conditioning coach for the same team Jensen plays for.

I feel like this book had a lot of potential at the beginning and I was looking forward to it. What bothered me the most was that I wasn’t understanding why Elle so quickly left Jensen’s house without explanation and how she hated him all of a sudden when they crossed paths again. The hate is obviously one sided but they just okay pranks on each other until he has her over for dinner and asks her to give him a chance and she just says yes? This just felt undeveloped to me. Why was there so much of a change of heart?

Their spicy scenes were not really my vibe. They may be yours so don’t write it off because of that, but they just weren’t for me. I was really going to put this all aside, but the last scene in the book ruined it for me and brought it to 2 stars. Again not my thing, not my vibe. But that’s not to say it won’t be yours. It was a good read, but maybe just not totally my cup of tea.
