Finally realizing that Keith is not ready to commit, Dejah begins feeling as if she’s wasting her life with him. At the same time, she also comes to the realization that she isn’t ready for the type of relationship that Marcus is offering either. Even though he is able to win her over with his charming ways and confident attitude, there is still a lot she doesn’t know about him. Unbeknownst to Dejah, instead of actually working overseas, Marcus was serving time in jail. Not wanting to run her away, he withholds that information but can’t wait to see her once he is released on probation. However, instead of his presence being the light that she so desperately needs, he ends up bringing nothing but pain and turmoil into her life.
Unable to control his anger in his new relationship with Dejah, Marcus once again finds himself in a precarious situation and decides to make a run for it. Assuming that New Orleans might be the best place for him, he skips town but soon realizes that he has made the ultimate mistake. After a surprise run in with Amanda, his ex, feelings that Marcus thought were long gone resurface causing him to rethink everything with Dejah. Shockingly, Amanda shows Marcus that she is no longer the woman he used to know. She delivers a crushing blow that lets him know turns down his advances she will never go down that road with him again.
On the other hand, Charisse is still struggling with her anger issues. With her grandmother pushing her to become a better person, and Jonathan leaving the relationship, she finally agrees to visit her father. The visit is supposed to be an eye opening experience, but it turns out to be everything but that. Charisse returns with the same attitude she left with which takes her down an even darker road than before.
Find out what happens next in the last installment of Her Final Moments!
What an amazing and powerful series. Domestic abuse is real and affect women as well as men. Both couples in this book suffered abuse from their significant others. Fortunately they were able to get out of their relationships with their lives. Unfortunately, the abusers didn’t fare as well. I enjoyed the fact that Lady Lissa used the fact that counseling was imperative for the victims to survive. This well written story flowed well and definitely kept my attention. There were a few grammatical errors in the book, but it did not interfere with the flow of the book. Well worth reading!
This was a great, well written story. I often found myself on pins and needles not knowing what to expect from Charisse or Marcus. Both of these characters blamed everyone except themselves for the things they did to and against others and to the very end played the victim of situations completely orchestrated by them. In both cases they refused to seek help because again they were not the problem, everyone else was. What a heartbreaking story but one that needed to be told.
As always this was a great read! Some times I laugh at myself because I stop everything just to get to the next page. I just couldn't put this down. Even in the excitement I'm sure MS Lissa had in writing this, the errors in name placement near the end had me confused a bit 😁 but I figured it out. Domestic violence comes in many forms and shades. These younger generations aren't prepared for such emotions and if they don't get the help needed, this could be them too. Trust your gut, know your worth. Save yourself and possibly the one you love too. Great read!
This book was definitely worth the wait it provides a powerful message that abuse is never okay don’t settle for less we all need to know our worth it’s sad that domestic violence happens every day but we can’t control the actions of others but we can control our destine to be respected love and not take crap from people if you haven’t read this book series please do so you won’t be disappointed
I enjoyed both books. I enjoy anything by Lady Lissa! Abuse is real ladies. Stop ignoring those red flags and know your worth. I'm still glad Charisse ended up dead though. I know she had a horrible experience as a child but I'm not go excuse her behavior. It's help out there. Go get you some. I still wish Marcus would have ended up dead, but he say he learned his lesson...or did he 🤔 I could actually see a spin off to this, starring Marcus!
I would not have guessed that the final moments that were referenced would be Charisse's final moments. I was sure that she in one of her rages would kill Jonathan. I had hoped that she would listen to her father and try to change but she was way too far gone by the time of the visit to be helped. I am happy that Amanda and Dejah were able to escape the wrath of Marcus. He is where he belongs to be - in jail. This was a great story!
Let me start by saying this Marcus had a real bad hand problem I was surprised when Amanda got with. I just he thought she was playing. Now Charisse was a hot mess I wish she would have listened to her grandma in got the help. I’m so happy that Dejah and Keith got back together and he save her from Marcus I love a happy ending you did a very good job
Both men and women can be victims of domestic abuse and this book showed examples of both. Not everyone is lucky enough to get out alive, though. The things I liked about this book was it stressed that you should seek help and support rather than hide your situation and secondly, professional help is needed for those who have suffered through this.
For the most part, it was a good sequel. There were just some readings that were left hanging, (i.e. Who was the girl at the mall that went after Amanda?). In addition, there was a lot of grammar errors, and words missing, that required you to read between the lines. I also wanted Maurice to get dealt with in prison so he could really feel the pain.
Charisse went out sad. She did all the evil things but didn't see anything wrong. She was definitely like her dad. I am glad that everyone ended up with a happy ending. Great job Lissa
Whew Chile two stories just different outcomes but what got me was Charisse not being able to see herself in her father when she visited him, then Marcus got everything he deserved and more!!
I enjoyed the book! I absolutely love good endings. I loved how the author pointed out different views on DV. Women and Men suffers from it. Fatima in the book reminded me of Fatima on Sistas lol.
DV is a very serious situation. If someone hit’s you it only get worse. Both Amanda & Jonathan hope their situations would change but it only became worse. Awesome storyline.
Lady Lissa never disappoints! Great series and look into domestic abuse suffered by women and men. Charisse and Marcus were horrible to their partners but always thought it was everyone else's fault. Both needed anger management and jail time. The ending got me by surprise but I was happy for Amanda, Dejan & Jonathan for being able to overcome their abusers. Definitely recommend series!
This was a great series even though the seriousness of this book. I didn’t expect the end but I loved every page and even though there was some happy moments there were sad. Great read…..
Being a survivor of DV myself, I'm so happy that someone took the time to shine the light on this subject. There are way too many people out here (men and women alike) who are trapped in D.V situations, if you see something say something
Its so crazy how people can be so angry , hostile and abusive but don't believe they have a problem. (Until its too late) You can't keep apologizing for the same thing over and over again.
Part 2 was definitely a page turner. I wish Charisse would of got help and Marcus. It’s sad that things ended the way they did for them. But thank god Amanda and Jonathan got that happiness back.
Thank you for bringing awareness to several issues of domestic violence!! This read was very informative!! Learned some things along the way. Great job Lady Lissa!!
