Whitecrest #6

Rose-Colored Boy

Rate this book
I was the youngest and last of my brothers to find love. They called me a romantic, a dreamer, a boy with rose-colored glasses who couldn’t see the world for what it was. Maybe they were right… or they were wrong and I was exactly the boy I needed to be for one specific man. A man who’d embrace how I was, who would polish those glasses and shield me from anything that wasn’t pure light.
So when a handsome older man won a two hour date with me at a charity auction, my brothers were worried. I wasn’t though, because somehow I was pretty sure I finally found the very thing I’d always been looking for.
Now I just had to hope he saw it too.

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.

“Those rose-colored glasses?” he asked, kissing my nose. “Don’t ever take them off. Stay this optimistic and loving forever. I’ll protect you from everything else.”

This book is mostly fluff with a big helping of sugary sweet mid-coitus love-declarations, a surprising amount of borderline cringe dialogue because of the aforementioned, and yet, there’s just something about this book I really freaking enjoy.

If you’re like me and started reading MM after M/F and reverse harem books and feel like you’re missing that ‘big family of protective older brothers’ vibe you sometimes get with those, then look no further. Archer is the baby in the family, he has more brothers than I can remember, and he’s physically the smallest, even though he’s still 6 feet tall. He’s a sweetheart golden retriever and the entire world kinda collectively decided he needed to be protected, lol. I know that’s not everyones jam, but it’s certainly mine.

Also, there are not enough books with pleasure Dom’s out there. It just gives me all the tingly warm and fuzzies. Bram (I’m surprised there weren’t more vamp jokes) is 100% focused on pleasing Archer in any and every way, and it’s so hot. I am also a sucker for books where daddy kink happens because one character happens to blurt it out while getting railed. As good a time as any.

I’m not one to often add spicy quotes, but this one deserves a mention:

“Want me, Daddy? Want my mouth?” “Yes. God, yes.” His full lips trailed down my jaw to my neck. “On your knees, baby boy.”

“I spent a hundred and fifty thousand dollars for a chance to spend two hours with you, Archer. You don’t need to be the one embarrassed here, okay? Tell me you understand that.”

“[…] I just need to live for myself. I need to feel it all: happiness, sadness, anger... pain. It’s all part of life. I’ve watched all of you go through those things and as hard as it was to see, I also knew it was a part of living. I have a good feeling about Bram, and if I’m wrong, I’ll make it through that too.”

“Have you heard of a pleasure Dom?” Every part of him relaxed. “Is that what he is? Yes, I’ve ... heard of them,” he said slowly, trying not to smile. “Yes.” I blushed, but I was happy to see him like this. “I’m... really happy, Brenn.” He snorted, then tried to hide it. “I’m not surprised to hear that. […]”

“Is it too soon to propose?” I asked, only half exaggerating. “I hear Vegas is open late.” Archer laughed, spinning around for me with his bottom lip between his teeth. “Nope. But I kind of want ice cream first,” he joked, yet I took it quite seriously. Five minutes later, he had a bowl full of strawberry ice cream in his hand, a heating pad behind his lower back, his feet in my lap and a smile on his face as I rubbed them.

The last and youngest of the brothers, Archie. As the "baby" of the family, everyone is always protective of him. He wears his heart on his sleeve and, in return, often gets it broken. Until he meets an older man at a charity auction and everything changes.

Wasn't truly a fan of this one. At 26, Archie still acts like a young boy with his first crush. It's a little uncomfortable to read, considering this is an age-gab romance. Then archer goes and calls him "daddy." I'm pretty sure that's what ended the book for me. "Daddy" and "Sir" are my two icks.

This is just my opinion. I love the author. I will read ANYTHING she writes. (Even when it's not my thing) This one just wasn't for me. That's OK because I know it will definitely be it for someone else.

The writing is sweet and adorable. It's easy to fall in love with her characters as they all feel real with their own likes, dislikes, flaws, and strengths. I love her writing. This just wasn't for me.

I refuse to give a book that just wasn't my taste, a bad star rating. I also can't give it a good star rating since I didn't enjoy it. So, there's no rating at all.

Oh my gosh, this was the sweetest story ever, and I’m so glad that Archie was able to find his happily ever after! Archie is a very special character because of the way he’s always hopeful, and his love interest, Bram, not only acknowledges that, but embraces. Bram and Archie’s relationship was well developed and oh so sweet, with a good amount of spice too!!! I highly recommend!!!

ARC Review:
Oh, the sweetest of the Novak boys. Archie is such a loving and nurturing character. He is strong in his own way; it takes a lot of strength to always see the best in people. It takes a strong person to keep their optimism and not turn cynical. It takes an especially strong person to give people second chances. Archie is refreshing with his innocent, child-like sweetness. I have always loved Archie throughout the series. He has spent his life being there and taking care of his family. Always wanting everyone around him to get anything they ever wanted. He celebrated everyone's HEAs, so naturally it's time for his.

Enter Bram and boy does he enter. Bram is strong and sexy and loves to spoil our boy. He is a pleasure dom and loves to take care of Archie. I feel like, with Archie being the glue that holds his brothers together, Bram is the embrace that holds the pieces of Archie together. He makes Archie feel safe and calms him, which is something Archie needs to keep being as strong as he is. They are perfect for each other. Gram is very worthy of the youngest Novak.

This is a complicated family and we have seen this throughout the books. The series is coming to an end, and it was nice to see how the relationship with Kale and Kai has flourish and is so great and healthy. Archie is so happy with this, so I needed to mention it. They still have things to work through as a family, but they are a great bunch and if they are together, they will be ok. I loved Whitecrest so much because of the relationship with these brothers.

The chemistry between these two is hot. Bram is HOT. I got the quivers a couple times. He is a good daddy and loves his Rose-Colored Boy. I would recommend this to anyone who loves their MM romance super sweet with a couple so perfect for each other, you can't help but smile while you read it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶🌶🌶/5

CW - Daddy/boy, bondage, public play, pleasure Dom, references to pregnancy & adoption involving side characters

Tropes - MM, age gap (26M, 37M)

“People talk about love like it’s rational, like it’s an equation that can only be solved after a certain amount of time. But that’s wrong. Love isn’t rational. It’s not something you can quantify or even explain.

Archer (MMC) is the youngest Novak brother and is a true empath with a heart of gold. He meets Bram (MMC) after he wins two hours of Archie's time at a charity auction and they hit it off straight away.

Their relationship is so cute and you can tell Bram is giving Archie everything he needs and is looking for in a relationship. It was cute to see the rest of the Novak brother's so protective of Archie but allowed him to live his life and experience things, good or bad.

I live for getting updates about the rest of the brothers in this book and I am still really happy about Kale and Kai and how much Kai has grown as a person and breaking out of old habits.

I was so ready to call Eldan an asshole (again) but even he has shown character growth in this book and I'm happy for it

Scale:
⭐️ - would've DNF'ed / continued out of spite
⭐️⭐️ - shit, but whatever
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - meh, could've been better
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - lit 👅
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - loved it, inject this shit into my veins 🤪

🫑 - no smut
🌶 - no point
🌶🌶 - mediocre at best
🌶🌶🌶 - standard smut, hot
🌶🌶🌶🌶 - 🥵 okay, some CW

Oh my sweet precious angel baby, Archer. He is such a doll, and I am feeling as overprotective of him as the rest of the Novak brothers. Archer is the baby of the Novak family and the last to find love. Rose-Colored Boy is the sixth book in the Whitecrest series and focuses on Archer and his Daddy, Bram.

At the start of the book, Archer and his brothers all participate in a charity auction where they are each donating a few hours of their time. Bram bids on Archer and wins.

Archer is the sweetest empathetic character alive. I just wanted to snuggle him while reading this. He sees the good in everyone and is adorably needy. Bram reacts very strongly to that as a Daddy and pleasure d0m. Bram wants nothing more than to take care of Archer, which is exactly what he needs.

This book was so incredibly and deliciously spicy. The praise was top tier as were their spicy text conversations. There is a scene involving Bram in a meeting that will definitely forever live in my head rent free.

I loved this book so much, and I highly recommend it along with the rest of the Whitecrest series.

This may be the sweetest of the bunch, with the youngest Novak getting his love story. Archer is the youngest, and his brothers are over protective of him. However, he really wants to live his life to the fullest, and find love when everyone in his life is settling down. When the Novaks are auctioning two hours of their time, there’s a friendly competition to see who would bring in the most money. It’s actually Archer, and he meets his match in a pleasure Dom named Bram. This actually seems fated, since Archer is sweet and does his best to connect and care for everyone in his family, and now he has Bram to take care of him too.

I really like how Archer and Bram are very sweet together, and how they only wanted to make each other feel good and loved. No unnecessary drama, and I loved how the Novak brothers love Archer but really step back to let him figure out this new part of his life with Bram too.

Oh, dear, sweet Archie. I just want to bundle him up and protect him from the world. Archie is the baby of the Novak family, but he has the biggest heart! He deserves to be loved and taken care of the way that he loves and cares for everyone else, and he definitely finds this in Bram. Archie's story was definitely worth the wait. What I loved the most was all the sibling interactions. It was great to see how much all the Novak brothers have grown and developed throughout the series. Kale made me laugh out loud several times. Book 1 of this series, Business and Pleasure, was my introduction to Octavia Jensen, and I am not ready to let these brothers go. 😭

Archie and Bram are absolutely perfect for each other. I was excited to read Archie’s story because he’s always been the sweetest little caboose of the Novak family and he deserves his happy ending. Bram was everything I wanted for him and more. Bram took amazing care of Archie throughout this story, and i am here for it. Archie is always taking care of others, it was absolutely his turn. Such a cute little series from Octavia. Can’t wait to see what she does next. As always this was a beta read for Octavia but all opinions are my own.

Whew! Another great story by Octavia! Such a hot, and very entertaining story! I loved that Archer finally got his happy ending, and getting to see a little bit of everyone else's. I definitely LOVE a Pleasure Dom, and Bram definitely fulfills that job well with Archer. They make such an adorable couple. I also love how protective Archer's brothers are, and how close his family is. So many blissfully steamy moments are why this author is one of my favorites! 5 star read!

Rose-colored Love

Archie has been my favorite of the Novak brothers for a while. I am so glad he finally found what he deserved. After being the empath, always taking care of everyone else's feelings, he finally found someone to take care of his. Pleasure Dom...yes please...new kink unlocked.

Archie and Bram were so freaking cute! I adore all of Octavia’s books, but especially the Novaks. Archie Novak’s story has been one I’ve been anticipating and not so patiently waiting for months now! And it did not disappoint! Such a wonderful and sweet love story! I feel very lucky to have been given and arc and I would’ve given it more than five stars if I could!
