Breq’s journey ends. Trapped with no plans to return to the past, the future is a post-apocalyptic nightmare. Earth, 30k+ years our future, is now home to alien beasts, giant insects, robots, and a rogue AI connected to a virtual heaven. Caught between mutated monsters and dark cultivators, every minute on the surface is a struggle for survival. Breq must break all the rules if he is going to rescue Hannah and defeat Talves in a battle of wills. Levels 1-120 were just the beginning as Breq unlocks new abilities and awakens an ancient system locked inside of him. With little more than a cursed sword and a ki-rifle Breq and his team must confront a dangerous cult, moon beasts, and more before diving down to a post-apocalyptic Earth and the ruins of NYC. All culminating into a final clash between the last of humanity, the Chel, and Talves. The past is lost and the fate of the future will be decided as the War of Bane comes to a bitter end in a battle that will have a ripple effect across the entire galaxy. Can Breq rescue Hannah in time and survive what has become of Earth? Mercy of the Wind is the epic 150k word conclusion to the Star Divers series that all started when a boy, now grown, accompanied by their robot companion, went from being a nobody in a game of millions to a hero who has dared to dream loudly as they ventured across time and space for survival, for loot, for their guild, and for vengeance. All systems red. Core collapse in 3, 2, 1 …. Let’s go.

A Fantastic Read

Huge space adventure with a brilliant far future setting/setup. The journey starts on the moon and ends on a post-apocalyptic earth filled with giant bugs, birds, monsters, a giant robot, and more. There are several cool twists that revolve around the progressive elements / cultivation, a new system being introduced and a cursed alien sword. Massively engaging characters and a tight, pacy plot filled with action make reading this a race - one you'll love.

Stephens 4th book in the series blew me away(wink)...Mercy of the Wind was an awesome read. His ideas and creativity are incredible, I feel the authentic originality of his work. Entertaining, creative, exciting, crying moments...this book pulled me in all directions of the heart. The Star Divers universe has been an adventure of a lifetime, few writers can capture my mind these days, but Im happy Stephen does.
