Non so se l’avete mai sentito, ma Roma è davvero bella e indimenticabile

I got this at a museum gift shop in Rome and finally got around to reading it. Since my crappy touristy photos didn’t do the place justice it’s nice to have a coffee table-style book full of the incredible architecture and art.
I could have done with less focus on technical details and more on short interesting stories or historical angles for each entry. The second half had more interpretations of famous paintings and sculptures which were really interesting.
“Whoever in loving pursues the joys of fleeting forms, when reaching for fruit among the branches will pluck only bitterness” (inscribed on Bernini’s ‘Apollo and Daphne’)

Nice enjoyable read that has you travel all over Rome in a timely fashion while giving you a splash of info
