Richter The Mighty
Cody and her little brother Billy are on the run, hunted by the most powerful man in the world: their father-President Wilhelm Hickory Richter. A bloated septuagenarian from Jacksonville with erectile dysfunction and a young, contemptuous, cat-collecting wife, President Richter is facing financial ruin and possible prison time.
Cody, a pistol-savvy motorcyclist, and Billy, a tech wizard at 13, are about to finger Richter for the murder of his first wife, Lulubelle. Meanwhile, drug-addled, bickering thieves have decapitated Richter's lawyer and split with his $100 billion fortune.
What to do? Sniff some coke, pop a few burgers, and deploy Lenny and Tiny, mismatched thugs supplied by a corrupt Russian ambassador, to "take care of" the kids. Then engage The Actuary, a hipster hitman from Brooklyn, to track down the cash and whack the thieves.
The result is a droll chase-and-combat through the Okefenokee Swamp, Miami, Washington, Paris, and Arles, leading to an explosive night at Ponte Vedra on the Fourth of July.

If Carl Hiaasen and Andy Borowitz were to have a baby, out would pop President Wilhelm Hickory Richter, who is anything but mighty, and in fact, might be quite the opposite. He is a corpulent buffoon of corruption who barrels through life as the most powerful man in the world with utter disregard to anybody but himself, chewing his way through a myriad of cheeseburgers, alcohol, and cocaine while playing patsy to his Russian counterparts. The heroes are his two children who he is trying to silence through having them murdered as they race to stay alive to expose the gluttony that is Richter. Manning has created a madcap and rollicking yarn of nonstop action, laughs, and cringe worthy moments that will keep you churning through the pages like Richter does cheeseburgers.

Hilarious spoof. When a cocaine sniffing, hamburger guzzling president sends moronic hitmen to kill his kids and two people who stole from him, the laughs keep coming. This satire of corrupt politics has everything, including cats, a talking robot, a scheming Russian ambassador, and a dog peeing in the Oval office. Look out, Carl Hiaasen.

Good allegorical tale
With tales like these, the president who seeks to be a God - honored and adored by the little people - will finally find his place in the history books. Loved the part about whether or not cats were covered in the pre-nup.

Parody isn't my cup of tea normally so I'm not the best judge. Thinly disguised characters, commentary on today's political scene. Some laugh out loud moments. Actually spewed my coffee when Richter played poker with the robot.
