If you are looking for wonderful pictures of A Hays Town’s homes this is probably not the book for you. But, if you want detailed architectural drawings and plans, plus an in depth biography coupled with personal anecdotes about the architect definitely buy this book. For a complete look at his work I would suggest getting this book as well as The Louisiana Houses of A Hays Town. Though I will say that for the true fan even the combination of these books leaves me wanting more. If I remember correctly Town had over 1,000 residential buildings built. It seems only a handful of the same buildings are ever shown. I wish there was a resource of his homes, with interior and exterior pictures and plans.
Long story short this is worth buying for fans of architecture and Town, but those looking for decorating inspiration would do better with Louisiana Houses book.
