4.5 stars - This book gives more of an adrenaline kick than a mosh pit at a Pearl Jam concert. Woo-wee (as a metal projectile whizzes past)!!
I love, and sometimes hate, the pull between Beckett and Ri. Fighting their attraction never seems to work out for them and giving in just brings more heartache. It's a real no-win situation. But it really does fog up the windows! 🔥🔥🔥
I applaud Ri's spirit and tenacity which drove her to be a participant in the games but - HOLY COW! - does she get more than she bargained for as a result! It's pure insanity. 😱😳🤕
There is, of course, a cliffhanger as we're only halfway through the series - which needs to be read in order, in case you were wondering. Even though I expected the twist, it was still shocking. Someone fainting from it would be appropriate.
I'm confused as to where the prologue plays in but maybe will find out next month.
I'm looking forward to the fourth book. This really is turning out to be my favorite series in this world. I'm honestly reviewing an ARC of this installment to the series.
Wow this series just keeps getting better and better! Beckett and Rhi are constantly in a struggle between love and hate emotions run high in this one things aren’t always as they seem . This series is amazing it’s intense suspenseful and emotional the twists and turns will have you hanging on to the edge of your seat and that shocking cliffhanger at the end I didn’t see it coming!!! This author has and always will be a favorite one click of mine !

Twisted, macabre, and absolutely sensational! Tempted Hero continues in this saga of Retribution Games. Beckett and Ri are caught in a web of lies, manipulation and deceit. And who do they trust? The brutal actions of theses groups of men in these Retribution Games is diabolical and sinful and poor Ri is caught in the middle with men taking away her decisions and her right to choose. If you like dark psychological twisted stories, then this one is for you! It is intense and mind blowing!
'Tempted Hero' is the third book in Ella Miles' "Retribution Games" series and it's an absolute thrilling rollercoaster ride full of intensely shocking situations within the games, suspense, mystery, intrigue, violence danger, abuse, murder, secrets, lies, and chemistry filled scenes. Combine these and you should know, I was on the edge of my seat with my heart pounding wanting to finish this book as quickly as possible and yet dreading that I would come to the end knowing there is still more to come. This is absolutely a thrilling contribution to the series and I can't wait for the next book.
Book three in the series continues Beckett and Ri's story. The author does a fantastic job delivering another dark and twisted read. She had me glued to the pages with all the drama, suspense and danger as well as the twists, turns and deeply raw emotions. She did a terrific job keeping me turning the pages as fast as I could and still left me wanting more. I'm loving this series!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Another impossible predicament Tempted Hero (Retribution Games Book 3) by Ella Miles is another pulse pounding and tension fueled installment in this series/saga. Bennet and Ri are constantly in internal struggle between love and hate. As this line is constantly blurred, emotions run fast and deep creating constant conflict within these characters as well as between them. The plot is fast paced and near constant danger, hardly seeming to give these characters a moment to breathe, let alone explore their feelings. However, these two run hot and steam things up as often as possible, danger be damned! Alternatively, it becomes imperative, for reasons not yet revealed, that feelings and attraction must be denied and hidden. Overall, the little bit learned about Bennett, Ri, the game and The Retribution Kings in this book, leaves this reader anticipating more. Definitely a page turner and entertaining read that has me clamoring for more and well written enough to make the wait worth it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily sharing my review.
WOW!! I mean Oh My Goodness!! Ella has done a marvelous job writing this one. I was on the edge of my seat, even bit my nails, just waiting to see what happens. I couldn’t sleep til it was done and then what the heck?? I mean HOW is anyone suppose to sleep after that cliffhanger?? WOW!! I can’t say anything without giving away stuff but I’m telling you the bad thing about reading a book when it comes out is having to WAIT for the next one. This one was the best cliffhanger yet and I NEED to know what happens. Ella bring on the next book…

The Games Continue As The Grey Eyed Man Begins To Stalk Ri! Beckett & Rialta’s Dark Story Includes All The Surprises Fans Have Come To Expect! Angsty Twists & Turns Keep Readers On Edge As They Scramble For Answers. It Is About Two People Hoping To Find True Love But Whose Choices Are Stolen From Them. Rialta Is Being Forced Into An Arranged Marriage, & Beckett’s True Love Story Is Based On A Lie. Their Story Is A Slow Burn.
ABOUT THE RETRIBUTION GAMES SERIES:
This is the third of six books in the Retribution Games series, Beckett and Rialta’s story. The series centers around the Retribution Kings as well as various other players that rule Chicago’s criminal underground. Beckett, a character from the Truth or Lies world, is new to the scene and gets sucked into a power play despite his best efforts to go straight. This book sets the scene for Beckett to get retribution for Odette’s death and finalize his initiation to become leader of the Retribution Kings. Meanwhile, the danger increases as two more games are played. Fans will be thrilled that Beckett’s brother has a cameo here. Enzo makes a foreboding appearance, hinting at potential trouble yet to come and the possibility of a clash with the Truth or Lies world which thus far revolves around Enzo, Zeke, Langston. FROM MISTAKEN HERO, BOOK ONE:
Beckett, probably twenty-nine, is ready to give up everything for love. He is a murderer. He deals in weapons and drugs. He met Odette by chance, and he soon found himself head over heels in love. The kindergarten teacher never once looked at him with pity or saw him as anything less because of his missing arm. And her positive outlook combined with her innocence captivated him. A year later, they are marrying. But Beckett doesn’t want to tarnish his bride with his wicked ways or his dark past. He gave that all up when he met her. He got a job in marketing. His friends and family understand; they live in a dangerous world. Being a one-armed man makes him a little unique, though, and he worries about being identified and connected to his life of crime. Beckett doesn’t want it to touch Odette or the children they will have together. He met her while in Chicago on a job. He was meant to take out a target that sells women – Ares, leader of the Phantom Brotherhood. He never did finish the job, that was how fast and hard he fell.
Odette Monroe comes from a normal family and they have welcomed him into their fold. Her ailing father insists on paying for the wedding despite their working-class means. Her father is an engineer and her brother is a loan officer. Though Beckett has been careful to keep his old life and new life completely separate, he still takes great precautions to ensure Odette’s safety. They announce their marriage will take place the day after it is scheduled just to ensure there are no surprises. But something goes awry during the ceremony, and again when their bags are missing in the honeymoon suite. A strange girl runs as if for her life through their ceremony and then reappears later in the lobby covered in blood. Beckett’s paranoia about Odette’s safety has him jumping to the conclusion that the incidents are somehow targeted to him. Whether or not that is the case, he soon finds himself embroiled in as much danger as ever. And when he returns to his suite, Odette is gone. There is only blood. Refusing to give up hope, he sets to work to rescue the love of his life.
Rialta Corsi, twenty, is running from a dangerous man. She is the Princess of Chicago, daughter to Vincent Corsi of the Corsi Crime Family. They rule half the country and have a cut in most criminal organizations. Her father is feared and not to be crossed. She certainly fears him herself. She had been sheltered her whole life, kept from the knowledge of the family business, and not taught the skills she needs to survive in his brutal world. She is just a tool. She has known since she was thirteen that he planned to marry her to make an alliance with the man of his choosing. She doesn’t have options, and she decided her only choice is to run and never stop. She is bleeding badly and needs medical attention, but there is no time for that. As luck would have it she is picked up on State Street and taken against her will to a club. The Phantom Brotherhood plans to sell her, but when their leader recognizes Ri his plans change. By marrying her, Ares can solidify an alliance with the Corsi family. Ri doesn’t want to be forced to marry any man. It is her biggest fear. She longs to feel truly loved by a man, though it seems impossible. But she never shows fear. She is feisty, fierce, and savage. She may or may not be inexperienced, but she knows how to use her body to control men.
When the handsome one-armed groom she saw at the hotel earlier comes to her rescue, things turn in another direction. Hero helps her out of one predicament, but she is still not free. And if returned to her father, she knows what punishment awaits. Still, she cannot help her attraction to Hero – Beckett – the man who seems to think she needs rescuing. And though he is in love with his wife, that devotion makes Ri want him even more. And when he is forced to kiss her, it makes her want to live again. Beckett returns to the hotel with Princess, hoping to clear things up with her father and avoid any blame for what happened. He still doesn’t know from whom Princess was running or why. But when Odette turns up missing and his groomsmen confess to belonging to the Retribution Kings – a group he has never heard of – his whole life turns upside down. Beckett thought he left the life of crime behind him, but it turns out the RK’s had chosen him as their new leader. It is a job he never asked for and doesn’t want. It turns out his chance meeting with Odette was no mistake, and he is now desperately in love with a missing woman who may or may not love him after all. And he hates himself for feeling something for Princess when Odette means everything to him. He is not a cheater.
Beckett is convinced that Princess’s appearance has something to do with Odette’s disappearance, but she refuses to share any information. Someone was probably trying to prevent him from taking over the RK’s, as Beckett’s reputation apparently precedes him. He believes Princess is the key to finding his wife, and though their relationship is uncertain, his love for Odette is real. Meanwhile, the RK’s explain that he will become their full leader only after he finishes his initiation. The four groomsmen nevertheless give him their respect now, and together they work to keep Princess safe from those desperate to capture her while following all leads to Odette. A large portion of the story takes place on the night of Beckett’s wedding. The book ends in a cliffhanger about a week and a half later. FROM FORBIDDEN PRINCESS, BOOK TWO:
As book one closed, Beckett had returned Ri to her father, Vincent Corsi, in exchange for information about Odette’s whereabouts – but not before Ares met an untimely death. That effectively eliminated the threat of the Phantom Brotherhood. During the turbulent week that the Retribution Kings had Rialta in their custody, she had somehow gotten under their skin. Even though it is possible that she or her father had something to do with Odette’s death, all but perhaps Lennox was a little smitten by the feisty woman. Ri returned to her father’s home without having recovered her memories, uncertain about her future but glad to help the RKs in their search for Odette. She was already falling for Beckett, with whom she knew she had no future. Her father announced a plan to help ensure Rialta’s safety going forward – a plan the Retribution Kings helped him devise. A game will take place that will ensure a temporary peace amongst the various players, and the winner will win Rialta’s hand in marriage as well as the entire Corsi empire once the birth of a male heir comes about. Caius volunteers to participate in payment for Ri saving his life. Beckett volunteers as well, and it becomes clear to Ri that they had not found Odette alive. Beckett refers to the contest as the Retribution Games.
As this book opens, it takes a step back a few days in time to Beckett and the Retribution Kings as they parted ways with Rialta and Vincent Corsi at the Phantom Brotherhood club. Corsi had left evidence for them at HQ showing that Odette had not survived after she was kidnapped. The video showing her being led out of the hotel by two men had given them hope that she could be found alive, so this is devastating news. The accompanying note blames Ares and the Phantom Brotherhood, but none believe it. Monroe informs Beckett that his initiation will begin soon. Two trials, with the final task being retribution for Odette, after which Beckett becomes king.
Beckett has a plan. He and the RKs don’t’ let on to their suspicions. Instead, they help Corsi devise a game that will call a truce to the brewing war in Chicago while allowing Corsi the opportunity to take out some players and choose who to align himself with using Ri as a tool. But they will use Ri as a tool, too. Beckett plans to win the game and Ri’s hand in marriage. From there, he can get Corsi’s empire and destroy everything – the ultimate retribution. What they don’t expect at the announcement of the game is for Rialta to enter herself in the game as well.
Rialta considers running away after learning of Odette’s death, but her father holds her roommate Lucy’s safety over her head to keep her in line. While awaiting the first of the games, Ri attempts to recover her memories and piece together her past. She remembers that she has lived with Lucy and had a fairly normal life for the last couple of years, a privilege her father allows. She works as a waitress at the Red June Café. She is set to begin her junior year of college in the fall – and was enrolled in summer classes before her recent disappearance. She hadn’t yet decided on a major. In particular, she hopes to recall the identity of the man with grey eyes who she had escaped from on the day of Beckett’s wedding. While staying with her father, she also hopes to discover more information about Odette for her friends. It takes some time, but the memories begin to return to her until she finally remembers most everything. She might have some much-needed answers for Beckett, but knows he would never take her at her word so she can only play along with her father’s game and hope to protect him in the end.
The games get off to an interesting start and set the tone for things to come. Thirty-three men signed up to participate for Ri’s hand in marriage, Caius and Beckett included. Unbeknownst to them, though, Rialta has remembered a few of her skills which happen to come in handy. The following week is an emotional one for the Retribution Kings, as Odette’s funeral takes place and they prepare for the shift in power. The initiation rites begin, but Beckett is unprepared for what awaits him. IN THIS BOOK:
As book two closed, Ri had offered her father a deal in exchange for info on who killed Odette. She had wanted to free Beckett to get retribution so that he could go then go home. Her father demanded a truth that would cost Beckett his life, but Caius played hero and claimed it was he who had slept with Odette. Odette then played hero for Caius by making another deal with her father – anything he asked for in exchange for Caius’s life. Since Ri had violated the no intercourse rule that she herself had asked for, she agreed to remove that rule. This meant that Caius and the RK’s, including Beckett, were now safe despite breaking that rule previously, but it also meant that Ri faced more danger going forward. Her father scolded her for falling in love, reminding her that he had warned her against it. Caius left with the thumb drive Vincent had provided showing who was responsible for Odette’s death. What Ri didn’t know, or remember, was that the video pointed to her as the guilty party. Beckett had learned from Odette’s friend Emma that Odette didn’t want to get married – at least not yet. She didn’t love Beckett. He has begun to allow himself to let go of her and to feel for Ri, but when he saw the video implicating Ri in Odette’s death, he was overwhelmed with warring emotions.
As this book opens, Beckett struggles to accept what he saw in the video. He knows he must get retribution for Odette’s death, but he isn’t ready to let go of Rialta just yet. Yet if Rialta is to die, it will be at his hands. He fears that learning about Ri’s part in Odette’s death might trigger Caius and the others to act rashly. In a cautious move, he destroys the video and only tells the others that it wasn’t the evidence that Vincent Corsi had promised. Meanwhile, Ri begins to feel Beckett’s cold shoulder. But as Beckett gives her space, new men enter the picture. Kek terrifies her even more than her own father. She has never been safe from him, and she has suffered from his sadistic tendencies for years. When a mysterious note arrives on her bed reminding her that she has always been his, memories of the man with grey eyes return to her. As he continues to stalk her, it becomes clear that the RKs cannot keep her safe from him any more than her father could.
The games continue in this book, but the danger is ramped up considerably. Ri owes her father favors, which doesn’t help matters at all. Leighton Stone chooses the next game. The confident and charming man hopes to win Ri over. A week later Ri meets Ryker, leader of the Devil Crew, just prior to a new game. Ryker is generous but respectful, but Ri doesn’t trust her own judgment at this point. Throughout the week and a half that passes in this book, Beckett’s hot and cold behavior frustrates Ri, whose protective instincts are challenged by Beckett’s difficult behavior. It seems like they are both on top of the world when they let their chemistry take over, but Beckett always pulls away afterward.
Both want to protect their heart from heartbreak. Beckett is convinced that love is not in the cards for him. He begins to have hope that it might be different with Ri since she is part of the underworld, but as retribution looms ahead, it doesn’t seem to matter. Beckett and Ri’s story heats up in this book. Beckett’s fractured trust with the RKs has him holding his cards close to the vest. Gabe is the only one he will turn to. This book will take you on a wild ride and settle a few outstanding questions. It will take a big twist right before it ends in a cliffhanger. Book four promises to turn everything upside down as a new reality settles in.
As the story closes there are many unanswered questions. What happened to the woman that Beckett was falling for in Seattle at the end of the Lies series? How long was Ri missing in the beginning? Did Odette have a true love? Is someone in the organization jealous of Beckett or in love with Odette? Is Lennox true to the RK’s? And Gage? And the other members? Ri has a fresh wound, but what are her old scars from, and when? Was she responsible for Nicolo Ricci’s death? How does it happen that the RK’s have a safe house on the same lake as Mayhem’s? Lennox accuses the other men of thinking with their appendages, so why does he in fact go along with them all? Why did/do some the RK's all pursue Ri despite Beckett and Ri’s obvious attraction to one another? Ri’s memory issues are a bit confusing. She supposedly remembers nothing, yet she remembers her father and knows to fear him. She knows he wanted to sell her innocence since she was thirteen but cannot remember her childhood or teen years – how is that possible? If she knows it is like signing the death warrant of any man that sleeps with her, why does she then relent and ask, putting her friends in danger? The RK’s indicate they will serve her father retribution – so why do they bother with her request since her concern would no longer be merited? Why do the RK’s foolishly send the video? Why would they think it might help Princess? How much does Corsi know about what happened to Odette? What is the mysterious grief that Ri vaguely recalls feeling? What underlies Lennox’s grief? What is the cause of Beckett’s shame – the reason he believes he let his friends and family down? What is the cause of Ri’s history of memory loss? How did Rialta feel about her engagement with Nicolo Ricci? Whatever happened to Ri’s mother? Is Caius playing Ri? And Beckett? Why does Ri suddenly disregard her father’s order to abstain, neglecting the fact that any man she sleeps with will probably lose his life? Why does Beckett act so recklessly with Ri towards the end of book two, setting himself up for certain trouble? Who was Ri talking to in the dark when she and Beckett were drugged? Did Gage follow Beckett’s instructions? Or did he go rogue? What do Caius, Lennox, and Hayes know prior to the retribution? Is this part of Beckett’s plan?
Beckett and Rialta’s dark story is about two people hoping to find true love but whose choices are stolen from them. Rialta is being forced into an arranged marriage, and Beckett’s true love story is based on a lie – it is essentially an arranged marriage as well. Their story is a slow burn. They have great but inconsistent chemistry at this point – Beckett waivers in his feelings for Rialta as he still grapples with guilt because of his marriage to Odette. Neither quite knows how to react to the other from one tumultuous moment to the next, though their underlying connection is unquestionable. They have a love/hate relationship as they battle their attraction to one another. They stand at odds while Ri holds information back and also serves as the key to retribution.
Beckett and Rialta’s story includes all the surprises fans have come to expect. Angsty twists and turns keep readers on the edge of their seats as they scramble to find answers. Both Beckett and Rialta must battle themselves to deny the true depth of their feelings for one another as they work through the dangers that face them while plotting retribution for Odette’s death. Their story is nicely written. It is plot-driven, with devastating twists and turns that sock you in the gut. The characters are nicely developed. They sometimes seem inconsistent, though. Some of the scenes feel a little gratuitous and convenient. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Beckett and Rialta. I rate this book four stars.

How did I not see this coming??? This series just keeps getting better and better! In this story Beckett finds out who killed Odette and is besides himself with what to do. He knows that he should get Retribution for Odette’s murder, but he is conflicted on his feelings.
The emotions are raw, the suspense is undeniable and the cliffhanger at the end, just makes me wish the next book was already out! I was on the edge of my seat while I was reading this and my emotions are all over the place. One minute, I’m like yes, finally, then the next it’s like they take 10 steps back! The games are dark, twisted and psychologically exhausting. Lots of deception, secrets, suspense, and revelations. I cannot wait to see what happens next! This series is so addicting!! As the games continue so does the insanely intense, smoking hot, love/hate relationship of Beckett and Rialta. There is so much drama, action and suspense packed into this story I couldn't put it down. After that jaw dropping ending I can't wait for Fatal Princess!!
This book is absolutely amazing! The characters are marvelous and the story line is absolutely marvelous.! All I can say is I wish the rest of the series is already wrote and out.
Beckett and Ri's story continues and what a story it is, I couldn't put down. It's a twisted, dark, suspenseful psychological thriller. This keeps getting better and I can't wait for the next book in the series.
More games are played. Secrets are still hidden. Feelings are withheld. A stalker is introduced. Pasts come back to haunt them. Action, action, action!

This is the 3rd book in the series and for best enjoyment, I do recommend reading them in order. Beckett and Ri’s story continues with loads of drama, suspense and steam. I love these characters, lots of depth and amazing chemistry. Can’t wait to find out what will happen next. I loved it!
Fantastic in every way! Seriously this series just gets better and better with each book!!! I have loved all the other couples but Beckett and Ri are very quickly becoming my favorite! Their story is so intense and emotional! I couldn't read it fast enough, the pages just flew by. I don't know how Ella Miles thinks up these stories but please don't stop! I never could have guessed all the crazy twists and turns that this story took. I loved how Beckett and Ri were more honest about their feelings in this one. No matter what they couldn't fight the chemistry between them. I love their passion. Their story is fabulously written and it's so easy to get lost in their world. I love all the characters and they just add to the whole experience. They are like a family, a slightly disfunction family who shoot each other but still a family. I seriously can't wait to see how this all unfolds but I know it's going to be a wild ride! Oh I would definitely recommend Tempted Hero but you don't need me to tell you that because after you read the first two books you'll be salivating for this one!
Book 3 and Ella is still bringing in the twists. Loving these retribution games, especially now the games are getting deadlier. Beckett now knows who killed Odette and things are definitely intensifying. Beckett and Ri can no longer fight or deny their attraction but will it be the beginning or the end for them. Need the next book now... that cliffhanger left me gobsmacked. I mean wow... just wow!

This is book three in The Retribution Games Series and it continues Beckett and Ri's journey. And quite a journey of lies and deception. Going deeper into Beckett's history and trying to figure out his future is a up and down ride of trying to find out if Beckett and Ri will find happiness or if they will even survive the retribution games. This book in the series reveals a lot more of their stories and I can't wait to see where their story goes in book 4!!!
This series is sinfully potent and wickedly addicting. Ri and Beckett's story is a jaw-dropping, hang onto the edge of your seat thrill ride that truly gives your heart a workout. Raw emotions, suspense, drama, twists, intensity, tension and desire are all enrobed with a luscious cloak of darkness that is too tempting and juicy to resist. Can't wait to see what happens in book four! This is my independent, impartial review.
Omg!! Loving this series thus far. The emotional intensity, the drama, the excitement, the push/pull between Beck and Ri has me biting my nails all the way. The cliffhanger has me chomping at the bit while waiting for the next installment.

This is book three in The Retribution Games Series and it continues Beckett and Rialta's story. The Retribution Games are getting more and more deadly as each one is played but now Ri has a stalker as well to contend with but who is it and what do they want with her and lastly Beckett has seen a video of who killed Odette but he can't believe what he is seeing is it real or are games being played to put them off finding out who really killed her only time will tell. There are twists and turns along with danger, deceit, lies, action, drama, suspense, betrayal and many surprises that you don't see coming. Each book in this series is just getting better and better and i can't wait to read the next one to see what will happen next. This book takes you in right from the first page and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the last one and omg what another roller coaster ride of emotions and a cliff hanger ending that literally blows you away. The chemistry between them is so hot that you can feel it sizzling of the pages of this book and it is so addictive that you find yourself unable to put it down as it is a real page turner and a must read. Ella Miles is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention while reading her books but just remember that you will need to read from book one to get all the background history as these books are not standalone ones.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "TEMPTED HERO" WOW!!! The games continue become much more dangerous, serious, deadly, suspense, intrigue, angst, abuse, violence, killing, hot steamy scenes, twists you never saw coming such an addicting read from start to finish. Rialta & Beckett's becomes much more complicated he gets a video that could prove who killed Odette but things aren't completely clear on that he's not sure what to do with it he needs more proof. Rialta's stalker is leaving her notes who is this ghost Kek she talks about she worries he'll kill the people she loves so she needs to keep her distance from Beckett & the guys but they skways get thrown together. I definitely recommend to get this gripping non stop action book so much happens you on the edge of your seat the whole time & the mindblowing shocking ending will blow you away so not expected. I can't wait for the next book "FATAL PRINCESS" it can't come soon enough need to know what's going to happen next phenominal read.
Just when you think you know where the story is leading to, your'e headed into a different direction. The fuse is lit & I feel like I'm going to combust when I'm expecting the story of Ri & Beckett to climax into a HEA ending, only to find out that yes, there is a climatic surprise ending to this book but their HEA that I'm expecting, will have to wait ... perhaps in the next novel?
This is Book #3 & their game has escalated into more danger & death. The number of guys from the different gangs who have entered this game, is dwindling so we should find out who will be the winner to win Ri's hand in marriage in the next novel. Hard to be patient in having to wait until the next book is available to read. These two have a love-hate relationship. Need to read Books 1 & 2 for the continuation story of book 3 to make any sense to you. Definitely a storyline that has captured my interest & has me hanging on for dear life, wondering what's going to happen!

Beckett’s emotions are in turmoil as he has developed feelings for Ri which is the last thing he wanted. The situation only escalates as he learns more about Odette and her death and it causes a rift between them as he tries to come to terms with what he has learned and what actions he should take.
Ri’s situation becomes more precarious as there are new men added to the game and one of them is determined to win Ri’s hand by whatever means are necessary which not only places her in danger but Beckett as well.
Both are trying to protect the other in their own ways, but they are also conflicted between the chemistry between them and whether they are teammates or adversaries. Beckett and Ri take us on a suspenseful ride filled with surprises you don’t see coming and two characters who are struggling to deal with the hand that life has dealt them which leaves us needing to know what the future holds for this couple.
The next Retribution game is lining up. Beckett has new information that tears his world open again, the video, the one showing what happened to Odette the night he left her alone in their hotel room, flashes before his eyes. Ri knows somethings up the moment their eyes meet at the next game, with all they had been through already nothing can prepare her for what comes next, when her past comes back for her once more! This is another wild ride! And with a shock twisting arrival for a cliffhanger! Ella draws you in with the desire and suspense that keeps your attention through out! It's often hard to keep a reader engaged knowing there's 6 books in total and your only at book 3! But the wait is so worth it! Filled with suspense, desire, steamy hot scenes action, twists and more!

This is the third book in this phenomenal series. Beckett and Ri are constantly struggling between their feeling of hate / love, and she is caught in the middle of a group of men who are making her decisions for her. This is a story which had me on tenterhooks throughout, and ends in a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to read more in this thrilling series. This is a well written story which is dark, emotionally charged, and with intrigue, suspense, twists, lies, manipulations, deceit, turmoil, danger, and violence, which all leads to an addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Beckett, Caius, and Ria just finished another game and another will start soon. Beckett cannot believe who killed Odette…it just does not make sense~ He tries to get her to confess but she will not do so. They both have so many secrets but will not let the other know about them. Another game means whoever wins can do whatever they want to Ria now, but must keep her safe and alive. Her father makes certain demands of her for the next few games and it will cost her~ She will need saving…will anyone come? Beckett and her continue with the back and forth; saving one another, being with one another. Beckett’s initiation to King means he must kill whoever killed Odette…and now it is time…can anyone save her?
Two more games are played and a whole lot of push and pull between Beckett and Ri is seen here. This book has the most amazing dialogues/quotes which can be used as teasers and hands down I'm living for them! There's blood, danger, a stalker and a battle of emotions.
Did Ri kill Odette? Why would she do so? Is Ri working with her father or is she actually innocent? Will Beckett ever hope for a future with Ri?

After feeling a little lost when it came to the plot in the last book, I'm very happy to say this book picked things up in every way!
The plot here was much stronger. There was never a dull moment in this book as everything moved at a gripping pace, hooking you in to read the next page. If life would let me, I would be reading this series in one sitting because I find them so engaging and addicting to read.
But what I really liked about this book is that all those loose threads--that seemed to be dangling out of nowhere--are starting to weave together. As always, I never know how these Ella Miles' stories will end but I definitely enjoy the twisting journey to get there. The plot (and romance) is starting to thicken and I can't wait to see what will happen in the next book!
Wow. That is really all I can say. I did not see that ending coming and I CANNOT wait for the next book!!! As usual, Ella knocked the story, characters, mafia drama, and love out of the ballpark. I picked this book up and couldn't put it down. Sneaking chapters in during passing periods and my lunch break!
The dance between Ri and Beckett leaves the reader in a swirling state of emotions. How could that have happened? How could that character do such a thing? What is going to happen in the end?? Did that really just happen? The reader is put through the gamut with this one. Yes, you are left with a cliffhanger, but damn, I can't wait for the next book! @theoriginalmrsp
This story just gets more and more twisted as it goes on. Ella really has pulled all the stops out on this one!! I was having trouble keeping track of all the twists and turns, it literally has everything you could want in a dark romance....just like Beckett i am wondering who Ri is? What really happened to Odette? There are so many unanswered questions its driving me mad. This is only book three in a six book series so i'm sure there are plenty more secrets to be revealed, i am loving it so much and cant wait for the next book!
