As with any faith based book, some of the short inspirations really stood out on the days they were read and others came to mind later as the year progressed. I'm sure if I were to start it over today, I would take away different messages and that's what I had hoped to get from this book of wisdom and inspiration!
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I really enjoyed reading the 365 days of inspiration from the Saints. Funny story - My daughter is a junior at a Catholic High School. One morning (November 30th) she was eating breakfast while I was reading my devotionals and let’s just say I sure wasn’t expecting this…I guess I should be proud that my child paid attention in religion class all these years. So jokingly I said to her “If you can tell me which Saint said today’s quote, I’ll give you $100”. So I read it and she said “oh, I know this, St. Therese The Little Flower”. So of course I googled St. Therese of Lisieux and it does say Little Flower. Why on earth did I say $100? I obviously wasn’t expecting her to really know that. My reply was “I’m never playing that game again”!😂😂
I love that it was just a simple quote each day - nothing overwhelming so it was easy to keep up. Most of these quotes were not the ones you've seen before, not the ones watered down or overly instagrammed. Some made me really stop and think, others gave me a deep sense of relief. Definitely a good way to remember your faith each day.
Pretty much what you'd expect. Tidbits of wisdom from the Catholic elite on how to be saint-like. Took away some spiritual pieces that could help. One of my favorites from Mother Teresa "I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. I just wish He wouldn't trust me that much.
A great way to begin each day. There were many days that the quote really gave me some inspiration for the struggle I had for that going on in my life. There were times that I shared the quotes with family and friends to help them get through difficult days.
This is my first Matthew Kelly book. I liked it! There were some super great and powerful quotations from saints: some very popular quotes and some lesser known but very impactful ones. I would like to read it again slower, perhaps over the course of one year as it was intended to be read.
