The Crescent Moon: Teargarden the Rise Book One

Rate this book
To Kill an Angel Welcome to Teargarden, a town bereft of law and order. It's controlled by two individuals–the devious innkeeper Therolim, and the mysterious yet beautiful Celina. Their rivalry was about to tear the town part, but all that would change with the arrival of the Archon. Archons were supposedly celestial saviors, sworn to protect the citizens of Agarath from demons, but Celina knew better. In order to protect herself and the rest of the town, she would need to devise a way to kill an angel.

Visit Teargarden, a lawless place on the frontier of nowhere, where ancient prophesies and the might of empires collide. A sword-and-sorcery epic set in a place not unlike Deadwood , Teargarden is a fantasy adventure with a demonic, western twist.

First debuted on Kindle Vella, this is the complete first series in paperback in its original chapter style format.

R.L. Lutz’s The Crescent Moon is a wonderful introduction into the world of Teargarden. The mix of sword and sorcery, angels and demons, and frontier western leads to unique, exquisite prose that sets the stage for epic conflicts to come. Rather than the usual overabundance of head-hopping and location-jumping so common in the fantasy genre, Lutz takes his time to explore the worldbuilding and become intimate with its complex, and morally grey characters who constantly question the nature of good and evil. Thanks to the “also by R.L. Lutz” note in the book’s opening pages, the reader can rest assured of the promise that Teargarden will continue to grow and evolve in forthcoming instalments. The Crescent Moon is a short, fast read, accessible to a wide audience. You’ll be eagerly awaiting to see where this unpredictable journey take you next!
