IT’S TRUE WHAT THEY SAY. KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE, BUT YOUR ENEMIES CLOSER. BUT NO ONE EVER MENTIONS LOVE.
Pastor Karen Shay has it all. Beauty, grace, eminent pastor, and well-known in her community. Karen is the image of success. Devoted to her adoring and loving husband of 14 years, Karen never imagined the twist life was about to throw at her when she does the unthinkable while having bible study with another prominent Pastor, and it all begins to unravel.
Desperate to preserve her life, family, and reputation, Karen finds herself drawn into a web of life-altering missteps threatening to bring her to ruin. Pastor Jarret Wilson has a reputation for being corrupt and worse. Conniving Karen to meet him at his hotel room was the catalyst sending her spinning out of control.
One night of adultery is about to ruin the lives of all caught too close. Tainted Hold Me Jesus is the sordid tale of one woman’s struggle to find redemption when she loses it all. Love, lust, and passion collide in this spiritually charged thriller.
I don't want to consider that there could be so many false prophets standing in pulpits even though I know God warns us in the bible. To see leaders doing the things mentioned in this book would make many people run from God's teachings and his church. Why would the prominent pastor in this book - Karen Shay - be unequally yoked? That alone should make the congregants doubt. But the kicker is her husband had more morals than her. The Bible says to forgive but Michael was truly in love to grant a second chance. These characters' lives were so intimately entwined that at times it seemed unbelievable. This book didn't flow well for me. It took some getting used to the writer's style. The scene changes weren't always clear. There were a lot of errors, mostly at the last quarter of the book; repeating sentences and paragraphs and missing words. There was a lot of drama in this book but I really couldn't get caught up in it because of the Christian backdrop. There were good lessons but I honestly wouldn't recommend this read.
I teetered on the line about giving this book a 3 or 4 star. This was a good story which would make for a four star, but I felt like there were some parts/details missing. Some parts of it flowed and gave detail, then it seemed like other parts just jumped ahead.
Karen didn’t appreciate what she had, started playing with fire, and didn’t think her behind would get burned.
Tiffany was a mess! I understood the venom everyone had for Wilson, I felt the same, but Tiffany as a Pastor was on another level with her hate. People all people are flawed and some congregations believe their Pastors are supposed to be perfect. They have to walk through the storm just like all of us so we can see Gods grace.
