Jenna E. Faas is the author of Pixie Dust, the first book in the Jelf Academy series. She lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her husband, son, and two Australian shepherds. From the first time Jenna turned the pages of a book, she became obsessed. As a young girl, she was always making up stories which she jotted down in school notebooks. An avid reader, she would get lost in fantasy and wished magic existed. Jenna began the concept of Pixie Dust when she was seventeen and expanded on the creation of the world through her college years. Her bachelors degree in Geology helped to inspire pixie magic, since gemstones and minerals are used to create pixie charms. When Jenna isn't writing or reading, she enjoys spending time with her family, working on arts and crafts, and singing to her favorite songs. She is currently working on the next installment of the Jelf Academy series: Dragon Scales

This story is magically delightful! When I began reading, I couldn’t help to think about the Cinderella story. I didn’t want to read another Cinderella retelling story, but then, it completely changed. Besides the wicked stepmother, her two spoiled brats (a daughter and a son), and the main character, Jane, working down to her bones, the story surrounds Jane in beautiful, magical scenery with danger on the horizon.

Jane finds out she is a pixie, and the master of a pixie school is the one to approach her to attend Jelf Academy to learn how to control her magical abilities. The stepmother is given a story about Jane attending etiquette school. Jane is allowed to attend as long as she returns on the weekends to clean a week's worth of chores thoroughly and correctly; if not, she is threatened with never returning to school.

So begins Jane’s adventures in school. The classes are phenomenal; I wish to attend this school to acquire these extraordinary abilities, especially with the crystals and tarot cards - since I work with them. Of course, there is that one jealous bully who has to make the main character’s life as miserable as possible. When Jane attended her first dance, I had a flashback vision of the movie Carrie by Stephen King because of this bully and her entourage.

Unfortunately, there is a group out there who wants to destroy the pixie world to consume their Magick, and their main target is Jane because Jane’s mother was a powerful pixie before she was killed.

And the adventures continue! This story so takes me in I can’t read it fast enough. When you complete one book, you will not hesitate to continue to the next book immediately. I’m so glad all three books are out, or I would’ve been tortured by having to wait!!

Anyone reading this review, if you love fantasy and magic, these books are must-reads!! Don’t even think about it; start reading Jane’s Adventure as soon as possible! Oh!! I almost forgot, the author, Jenna E. Faas, has the characters and the classrooms, manor, etcetera created into the most breathtaking pictures ever!! You will wish you could magically get inside these pictures. As beautiful as the covers are for each book are just as beautiful for each character and place. Be sure to look for those pictures.

Cinderella meets Harry Potter, with just a little bit of pixie dust thrown in.!
I love fantasy and this book was right up my street, though lots of simarities within the storyline I was still captivated by the characters and some magic of this book.

This was a delightful middle-grade YA fantasy with characters you liked and ones you despised, all of them encouraging you to turn the next page to find out what happened next! I would highly recommend this book!
