I read this book over 30 years ago, not long after it came out. Born and raised in New Orleans, I love the New Orleans connection. I intend to read it again.
I also read "Sweeter than Candy" and "Three Times Sweeter: Love, Home and Family."

This is an important novel. A time capsule and a timeless story. Rhodesia Jackson crafted an indelible tale here, one that captures the texture of New Orleans.

Too many New Orleans references.

Cute story, but way too many New Orleans references. The New Orleans vernacular became annoying after awhile. The characters were not well developed.
