Canadian writer Richard Todd creates the world of Scanlon Creek, a community with tensions between the townspeople and the residents of the native reserve Sky Lake just outside town. Native people start showing up beaten and dumped in the snow causing tensions between the community to grow. The main characters are the police officers - one of the officers, a woman Stephanie, is a native herself. Richard Todd has had great facility for description, characterization, and a cracker story. I can recommend this book to you even through I am only one third finished at the moment. Please support Indie Authors such as Richard Todd and myself.
