Interesting and often amusing snapshot of late-1980s South East Asia. I had never heard of this book nor the author but stumbled upon it in a secondhand book store in Bangkok (Dasa Books) and figured I'd give it a whirl. Wintle has an amiable writing voice and it was enough to keep me going through some less-interesting parts. I often dream what it would've been like travelling these parts before smartphones and social media took over the world.
(Goodreads currently lists this book as having '1 page' - I don't know how to edit it but the book as 285 pages.)
