Flapping, Splashing Fun

Some stories feel like a little burst of sunshine, and Let’s Go, Goose-Goose! is exactly that: bright, bouncy, and irresistibly playful.

Vanessa Ireson captures the simple thrill of exploration through the eyes (and wings) of Goose-Goose — a spirited little goose eager to discover the big, wide world. Young readers will be swept along by Goose-Goose’s energy, cheering for every flap, splash, and tumble. The repetitive, rhythmic text makes it a perfect read-aloud, inviting little ones to join in the chorus of “Let’s go!” and keeping story time lively and interactive.

Let’s Go, Goose-Goose! is the kind of picture book that makes you want to lace up your boots, flap your own “wings,” and see what’s waiting just beyond the next bend.

This is a cute story about a young goose who doesn't want to fly and doesn't want to migrate, as going somewhere new could be scary. With the help of his friend he learns that a new place needn't be bad and starts looking forward to heading south for winter. The pictures show us geese doing various activities, and we learn what they eat and how they travel. Suitable for anyone from four to Cub Scout or Brownie age.
I read a Kindle version. This is an unbiased review.
