Sometimes you can’t give the people you love everything they want no matter how hard you try. Other times, people need more of you than you’re capable of giving.

I’m at a crossroads between my wants and their needs. Kimber and I haven’t been able to grow our family and the clock is winding down. My friendship with Jake is becoming a nightmare. Convinced everyone has it better than he does, my partner can’t see the damage he’s inflicting on himself and those around him.

Forced to choose, I’m holding onto hope that it’s never too late.

A heartfelt novella with Mature characters, Good Changes, Sweet Family dynamics, A cute dog, Lovely moments....& About that hope we all hold onto.

Its been a year since I read Trig+Kimber's 1st story, the prequel ("Splinter Of Hope") to this series. Since then, we've followed them in sidelines...so in love, have a son Owen, being a family & happy♥️.

Then we come to now. Fertility treatment & Their employer Jake's troubles are causing upheavals in K+T's life. All seemed so fragile; But Acceptance, Worthwhile changes & Holding onto hope...Is so worth it!

I loved this short story & the ending *wink*, so heart touching! It's good insight into K+T's life, they've come so far! Inspiring strengths, Imperfectly perfect. I'm proud of'em! *Swoon*

Especially, I'm so glad for them. Plus, Yay, Trig now has a support dog♥️. Little Owen loves her!

P.s. I'm so excited for the next books, to see the impact of shit stirred 😁.

another part of a series 3.5**
This book continues the story of Trig and Kimber. I have not read the first book, nor the books in between so am not familiar with some of the things referred to in this book.
The author does state the books are meant to be read in order and you may not fully appreciate some things within this. My review is based on this book alone. Not sure if the ending is complete or whether it will continue later in the series

I have read this author before and find the characters all have a depth to them. The couple in this book each have issues that they are trying to overcome. They love each other and work hard to provide and support each other, sharing a common understanding and interest .. they are trying for a second child which adds further stress to their complicated background. Kimber has her work and friends. Trig has his army buddy to confide in.
I was able to follow the sequence of events because of how well the story is written, but there were parts where I felt something was missing, especially as this is a short, not a long drawn out book.

Sometimes all you can do is Hold onto Hope and don't let go

Holding Onto Hope is the fourth book in the Shattered Hearts of Carolina series and continues the story of married couple Kimber and Trig. Just a suggestion that this series is best when read in order, as otherwise you will find yourself lost and wondering what is going on, as the story-line continues from one book to the next. This book quickly plunges the reader into Kimber and the Mills Girls world and shows some of the ups and downs they are all experiencing. But the focus is on Kimber and Trig again and some of the trying times they have been having. This includes going through fertility treatments which adds strain to their relationship and then there is the issue with Trig's employer which only adds more.
This story is well written and intricately woven with a lot of emotion. A really lovely reading experience and wonderful addition to the series.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Back with Kimber and Trigs story, struggling to conceive a child together has put a strain on their relationship, when is it time to say stop? is there any other way? and Trig has more worries with Jake and their partner ship with his selfish needs. This is a well written short continuing story thats a great addition to the series

This is book 4 in the Shattered Hearts of Carolina series. My feeling is that this is a catchup novella between Sliver of Truth and Home Wrecker, a bridge as such.
Kimber and Trig had decided to try for another baby, but would they be successful? A bit of a mystery that Trig is following closely.
I look forward to reading book 5 in this series written by Jody Kaye.

This was a story of Trig and Kimberly and the love they have for each other. But it’s not always a uphill time but also has its ups and downs. But if it’s meant to be there will be times you have to work together to get your happily ever after!

I've read several books written by Jody Kaye; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the fourth book in the Shattered Hearts of Carolina Series; they need to be read in order. Kimber & Trig’s story continues from previous books.

What I love about Jody's novellas in this series is that she leaves so many clues but never gives the details. It keeps you wanting more, wondering what happened in the past and what is going to happen with certain characters in the future. And I love Trig and Kimber's relationship. I'm so happy for them, but they still have a long way to go too. Great job.

Emotional story with Trig and Kimber who want another child but are having trouble conceiving and the toll it is taking on their emotions and relationship. Loved their story and the characters are so real that my heart was breaking as they went through this crisis.

I enjoyed this new "Shattered Hearts of Carolina: story. It is a short and quick story that is heartfelt. It is Kimber and Trig's story as they struggle to conceive and all the emotions, ups and downs that go along with that. I enjoyed it!

It's nice to get another glimpse into Kimber and Trig's relationship. I love Trig and his devotion to Kimber. They are truly the perfect match. I hope he never finds himself in too much trouble and losing Kimber. Gotta read the story to know what I'm talking about. *wink*

A raw look into the trials of being parents and trying to get pregnant. Such a good novella and addition to the series to see more into Kimber and Trig’s world!

Another gut-wrenching book starring some of my favorite friends! I was so excited to read another book about Trig and Kimber. I had no idea what I was getting into when I started turning the pages!
It is always a bit like coming home to old friends when I pick up a new book in a series and Holding onto Hope was no exception! The Mill Girls were present and accounted for from the start, as were Aidy and Morgan. All of them mostly unaware of the battle raging for Trig and Kimber.
Struggling to conceive and wanting another child so badly, but trying to figure out when to say enough is enough nearly kills Kimber. I shed more than a few tears as I read.
My only complaint: it was too dang short, Jody! 🤣 I want more!
This is a must-read! You need to start turning the pages of this book now, and you will understand!
