Orcas Island #4

Sunset Weddings

Rate this book
Being in a love triangle is not as glamorous as movies make it seem…

Lillian thought returning to her small hometown would give her the fresh start she needed. Unfortunately, she got way more than she bargained for. Because now, she’s forced to deal with the return of an ex who wants her back, and a first love who doesn’t seem to want her at all. If only she could figure out what she wanted.

Dustin only returned to Orcas Island to shoot a nature documentary. Romance was not on his agenda— especially not with the woman who once broke his heart. But his good intentions didn’t stop him from stepping between Lillian and her scumbag ex. He’ll never make the mistake of falling for her again, though. Or so he thought…

When Lillian gets caught up in a scandal threatening Dustin’s documentary, he’ll have to decide if a happily ever after with his high school sweetheart is worth the devastating cost to his career. In the end, will love keep them together—or will their second chance at happiness end as badly as their first?

Catch up with your favorite characters at The Grand Madrona Hotel as they navigate love, scandal, and wedding chaos! Sunset Weddings is a sweet second chance romance and the fourth book in the Orcas Island series. Start reading now!

Good fun read

I have enjoyed getting to know the characters of this series, and being a WA native getting a little taste of home. Look forward to starting the next book in the series

After breaking up with her boyfriend, Lillian is back home on Orcas Island and is ready to begin a new chapter in her life. When her sister Lucy volunteers her to be a tour guide to a new documentary series being shot on the island, Lillian is not quite sure what she has gotten herself into, especially when she sees the star of the show, her high school Ex-boyfriend Dustin. She broke up with him and left him high and dry and has regretted it ever since. Maybe now they can mend fences and become friends again. Things seem to be moving along nicely until her Ex-boyfriend shows up on the island proclaiming his undying love for her, Lucy and Lillian uncover some shady dealings regarding the documentary, and Lillian is arrested. Will she get her second chance with Dustin or will she end up behind bars?

Author Amelia Addler beautifully winds a second chance romance and a mystery all in the pages of this fourth novel in her Orcas Island series. I loved Lillian’s and Dustin’s story. The antics of the Ex-boyfriend and her sister Lucy had me in a fit of giggles more than once. It was also a treat to get to visit the characters from the previous books. You could read this as a stand a lone novel as Ms. Addler does provide some back story, but trust me, you will want to read the whole series. My sincere thanks to Amelia Addler for my advanced copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed.

Sunset Weddings is a return visit to San Juan Island and Orcas Island. The author, Amelia Addler has written the story in a way where you can see the blue of the water, the Orcas when they pass by and even the kits playing outside their dens. This story is centering around Lillian reconnecting with her first love Dustin, and also let her most recently ex-boyfriend Mason show up so there would be tension between the two both wanting Lillian back.

There is a big secret happening right under their nose on Orcas Island. It is being covered up by the tv taping starring Dustin. But when Lucy and Lillian decide to snoop in the room of Dustin's boss that brought the tv show taping to Orcas Island, Lillian is arrested. Dustin decided he is going to uncover everything on his boss and why not throw Mason in there too. His search unravels secrets that will blow up his boss life and land Mason in a very uncomfortable situation with Lillian. You want believe what happens at Lillian's arraignment.

I received an advanced copy of this book for my review. I give it 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.

I really like the way the author gives a brief recap at the beginning of the book to reacquaint you with the series and characters. Reading so many books, this is really helpful to me and I am sure to many others. Lillian has returned to the area and is living with her sister, Lucy. Lucy has a habit of getting involved in not only issues affecting the island, but also her sister’s lives. Dustin, Lucy’s high school boyfriend is coming to the island to film a documentary about the wildlife. Along with him is quite a crew, including some shady characters. Of course, Lillian’s boyfriend that she recently broke up with is convinced he is still her one and only. I do recommend that you start with book 1 and read the series in order. Although the stories could all be considered stand-alone, it adds to the enjoyment to follow the characters as they develop.

I have been enjoying this series based on life on Orcas Island. It follows Claire, a woman who bought a hotel after receiving an inheritance. She has three adopted daughters and this book follows Lillian. Lillian has just broken up with her long-time boyfriend and since she can work from home, she has moved to Orcas. But, her boyfriend is trying to win her back and her high school sweetheart suddenly appears on the island to film an animal show. It was an interesting story but I didn't warm up to Lillian as much as other characters. She was either too weak and not making decisions she should have or she was letting others sway her into making very bad decisions. So, not my favorite in the series but still OK. No sex or profanity.

Great read. Couldn't put it down

Book 4 in this series is one of my favorites since book one. There are conniving bosses to be wary of, long lost loves, and, for those environmentalists, a community that comes together to uphold nature's most precious gifts of the island and sea. The family values abound as each individual shows their true colors, both good and bad. A round of applause to the author for holding my interest through an entire night with no sleep so that I could get to the end via all the twists and turns. Thank you.

This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.

I love the family in this series, although they sure know how to get themselves into trouble.
One of my favorite things about them is how they get out of trouble – They band together, to do what's right! Even if it's sometimes in an unorthodox way.

This story is no different, and was to much fun to read. I highly recommend it.

Sunset Weddings is another awesome romance on Orcas Island. I love this family, their passion for nature, their willingness to go the extra mile, the trouble they get in and the schemes they expose and stop. It is wonderful to watch Lillian and Dustin realize t hey never stopped loving each other. I was engaged in the story from page one, read all afternoon and hated to reach the end. I will eagerly await the next book!

Lillian is back in her hometown for a fresh start after her boyfriend cheated on her. She's happy to be back with family around her although her ex shows up saying he made a mistake but she's not keen on getting back with him and her childhood crush has turned up to film a documentary and she realises she still has feelings for him...... enjoyable read

Amelia has another winner! Each book in this series has been interesting and entertaining and this one is just as good if not better than the rest. Every time I read one it's like coming home visiting family and friends.

Lillian and Dustin

Lillian's story is eventually a happy one with her finally getting away from Mason, going home and meeting up with her first love. Orcas island and San Juan sound beautiful, The perfect setting for Amelia Addler's stories.

What a great story this was. Every book I read gets better and better than the one before it. Regretfully, I fear that the series is coming to an end. Dustin and Lillian are the sweetest pair. I adore how friends and family come together to support one another in any way they can. Wonderful narrative by Amelia Addler. I highly recommend reading the entire series to everyone.

While the title was sunset wedding this book really wasn't about the wedding it was more about Lillian! The Wedding IMO was a side note and not really the center of the book.

Another fight to save the island.

This book was fun, if a bit predictable. It's another fight to save the island and a sweet romance or two! Lots of fun!
