WTF- Why the Frown By Kim Witch Rhyming story including all the adult main issues such as bills, high gas prices, jobs, traffic, rude people, only kids, and looking at people's plumber's crack!
This is a book with graphics for us grown ups. A satirical take, showing the reality of the world around us. From the alarm that wakes us up to the time we return home. We are bombarded with things we have to do to keep ourselves afloat. This one illustrates it in good humor. That reminds me, the illustrations are done nicely. The book shows us how we can lighten up our frustrations, no matter how our life tests us. It made me laugh and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A definitely unique one that has to be read with a glass of your favorite beverage!
Why (W) the (T) frown (F) duck is a very fun and sarcastic illustration book for adults. It represents in a very fun way the regular day of a duck that could be everybody.
It is a super quick and enjoyable story that will make you smile and laugh!
This is by far the most fun I have had reading a book in a long time. Even my husband is smiling at the book passages I have read to him, and he is a difficult audience to please.
I was not prepared to turn the page and find the end… Nooo!… we had to go back to the beginning! Truthfully, it was no less fun for the several rereadings which occurred.
The only trouble was my kindle kept saying:
Kindle: Do you want to leave a review?
Me: I will write the review right after I stop laughing... But I need to reread the book
[proceeds to reread the book… Laughing! Comes to the end… up pops a message…]
Kindle: Do you wish to write a review? 🤦🏻♀️🙄
Me: No! Stop interrupting me from rereading my book. I am having too much fun! [Gets to end, again]
Kindle: Do you want to write a review?🤦🏻♀️😂🤣
Me: Ok, but I need to stop laughing first.
Ok, my Kindle book says I can leave a review… That involves stopping laughing long enough to click the 5 stars… without it changing it to something else!
Is my review allowed to only say, "read the book"? I cannot get my brain to stop long enough to think, it wants to laugh still!
I think that is a good idea! Go read the book! This is too much fun, who wants to be sensible! Come and laugh along with me at the antics of this duck. He reminds me of the Roadrunner… but it's ok, there is no Coyote in site.
Then please write a review so I can see what you think, too!
Adulting is hard! Thank God for authors like Kim Wilch and her never-ending sense of humor. She has written a picture book for adults, one that overflows with sarcasm. Meet Duck, who faces one frustrating moment after the other. As the author puts it, how much can he handle before quacking up?
Life is a series of moments where you will most likely end up saying WTF! I loved this book from beginning to end, first of all I found the concept to be brilliant. An adult picture book is just what the doctor ordered, the perfect thing to have in your home library. I believe all adults will relate to the situations described in the book. Why the frown? We all know! Duck is a great character and one I will mention to everyone struggling with the daily challenges of adulthood.
The book touches effortlessly the part in us that tends to overflow with frustration. Are you tired of rising gas prices? Do you always feel stressed in dealing with the never-ending traffic? So is Duck! Kudos to the author for gathering adulthood in a story that offers so many laughs. Honesty is the best policy, I believe, and the dollop of sarcasm just makes things better. It doesn’t contain inappropriate words or crude humor, which just goes to prove how cool the author is. She is one of a kind, my kind in fact!
How often does it happen for us to feel overwhelmed by adulthood? We all know the answer to that question! This picture book for adults is the perfect pick-me up, and one that brings out the best in you. Seeing Duck go through all these challenges will make you feel better about your own way of coping with life. The story is brought to life by cool illustrations, which I absolutely loved. The main character is a duck, which also says a lot about the author’s love for animals. I highly recommend her other book, intended for children!
Why the frown? After reading this book, you will definitely be able to answer this question! The new release from Kim Wilch was thoroughly enjoyed in our home, we laughed until our tummies hurt. In a world defined by upset and tension, books like this one represent pure happiness! If you are looking for a unique read, something to bring a smile on your face, be sure go give this adult picture book a try. Duck is ready for you!
This is such a fun, funny, and delightful book! The illustrations are some of the most vibrant and colorful I have come across in any picture book. They make each page pop and really bring to life the hilariously relatable scenarios. From fatigue first thing in the morning to rising gas prices and frustrating traffic, this book touches on so many moments in daily life that adults have to deal with. The best part is that it's done with so much humor that you end up laughing as yourself and knowing that you are not alone!
I love the sound effects written throughout the story and the beautiful way they are presented on each page. The rhyming is also super fun and only elevates the story even more.
Despite being targeted toward adults, this book does not have any inappropriate language or crude humor! The story simply presents daily scenarios that adults can and will connect with. A younger audience will enjoy the illustrations as well, even if they can't yet relate to the frustrating situations of adulthood.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good laugh! It's a wonderful reminder that these inconveniences happen to us all.
This is the perfect book to read when you're feeling down and can use a good laugh. It has a great combination of bright-coloured illustrations and hilarious situations that most adults can relate to in one way or another. Being an adult can be hard. Many of us have had to deal with traffic and bad drivers, an increase in prices, or rude people in general. This book will help you laugh it off, shake your head, and completely understand where Duck is coming from. You'll love the expressions on the duck`s face. They are just brilliant!
Eventhough this book is written for adults, there is no bad language . It just displays good clean humour. Give it a try. You'll love it!
This isn't my typical type of read, but I was having a bad day and I came across this book on my Kindle and thought "WTF? I'll give it a try." I'm glad that I did, because it was just the little humorous pick-me-up that I needed.
I always loved reading little rhyming stories to my children, but they're older now and won't let mom read to them. So, this is a rhyming story just for ME. It touches on every adult aggravation from the prices at the gas pump to rude shoppers and everything in between. The rhymes are catchy and the illustrations are adorable, and you can't help but smile while reading this one.
This is a quick read, just a few minutes long, and I'll probably pick it up often when I get frustrated with life and just want to say "WTF Duck?!"
This book is the perfect pick me up. When you life is getting you down and you feel overwhelmed.... grab this book! You won't be able to stay serious or stressed. In fact, you will undoubtedly laugh all the way through. This comedic book is really creative and clever. The delightful illustrations and relatable story will have you in stitches. I absolutely loved this engaging, entertaining, encouraging and oh so enjoyable book. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. Definitely a must read!
It’s not often one sees a story book for adults, complete with the rhyming pattern seen in children’s books. The art work is fantastic, reminding me of the Donald Duck comic books. I love the idea of a storybook for adults, but I feel something is missing: none of his problems are resolved. I would like to see him address his problems with more than alcohol. How can he save some money to pay his bills? What can he do about his dead-end job? That’s the reason I’ve rated it 4 stars instead of 5.
A fun “WTF” book for our everyday attempts to adulting. Because us adults deserve to laugh too, right? I feel like this duck daily. ESPECIALLY my mornings and the cleaning. At least I know I’m not alone. The author wrote a hilarious, rhyming, adult book that we can all enjoy and relate to. The illustrations capture the emotions I feel during these “WTF” moments, and how this short story is written. 10/10 book. When my children start telling me they can’t wait to be an adult, I will whip this book out and let them read it.
I loved this book. It’s short and sweet and just got the spot. WTF Duck is having a heck of a day. Honestly, I could relate to so many of his issues—from needing a nap when the alarm goes off in the morning to feeling like this is the day I might finally snap. 😳🫣🤷🏽♀️😂😂😂
This story is a quick, fun read for adults and helps us laugh at our days’ many trials. Happy reading!!
Adulting is hard and this book will bring a smile to your face. All the scenarios in the book are relatable. I especially like the illustrations. The detail is spot on. I was hoping for more and wished the book didn't end so quickly! It'd be fun to have a series of WTF Duck with even more hilarious scenarios.
Adulting is tough... If you sometimes feel like you are living in a surreal dream and you are about to go insane... this book is for you! It's a perfect present for those who take life with a pinch of salt! It will make you laugh and de-stress when you need it! This rhyming picture book will bring the inner child within you. Enjoy! Warning: lots of sarcasm included, no inappropriate words used
A short and sweet…no, scratch that. Let’s say very short and wacko story for any adult who needs some laughs. I admit I still can’t automatically think ‘why the frown?’ when I see the WTF. The illustrations are bright, entertaining and superb!
The illustrations are AMAZING and I got a good laugh! Grab a glass of wine and unwind with the duck with the bad luck!
We’ve all gone through what poor duck goes through in this book. This was refreshing and delightful. Can’t wait to see what’s in store next from this wonderful author!
This book was a fun, easy read. It had a cute, relatable story for adults presented in a children's book format. If you have some time to kill & you need to add some laughs & smiles to your day, I highly recommend giving this a quick read. The illustrations are really good as well. This book will certainly quack you up! 😉😂
I was expecting something more NSFW based on how it was initially presented. It was still a fun exploration in the day of the world’s unluckiest duck. The artwork was amusing and did a great job illustrating the story.
WTF Duck is not the typical kind of book I read But I found it to be hilarious and relaxing. I like the humoristic approach of the author to the daily issues people encounter. I also loved the illustrations. It really goes well with the message. Great job!
This book is hilarious! Duck makes his way through a typical human day. This book reminds us it’s okay to laugh at the ridiculousness of life. Would make a great gift for a friend.
A cute book with lots of rhyming that you can read to your children if you wish. No bad language despite what you might expect =) It's all in the day of an adult. Fun.
