When love has gone tragically wrong, how do you begin again? How do you deal with the fears from the first time around? And how do you find real love?

Penny Lane innocently married a controlling and brutal man. After years of abuse, a remembered strange wedding gift gives her a second chance.

Her neighbor is fast sweeping her off her feet, just as she faces the worst trial of her life.

But through it she finds strength she didn't know she had; true love is steadfast; and friendship is the glue that holds us together.

This is a fair review even though I know the author and was one of the early readers. The book starts with the final scene of a bad marriage and we spend a lot of time on the main character's new life in a small town. Life is not always perfect and we get to see and feel her pain. Having known the author for a long time I was not expecting that. There are other things but they may count as spoilers, This is a book way outside my comfort zone and a great start for a new writer.
