About the author

My name is Mrs. Aris A.K.A. known as the Golden Pen. I have been composing poetry since grade school. I enrolled in a poetry class in High School and learned how to write poetry using traditional pattern and meter. I have written over two thousand poems. My husband is also a poet. It was our love of poetry that brought us together. I have had several of my poems published in anthologies and other e-zines including two of my poems in honour of the victims of the World Trade Center, 'Pheonix Rising' and 'Fire In the Sky'. Melodies of the Heart is a collection of twenty-nine of my best love poems. .

Melodies of the heart by Mary Aris
This was a lovely book. Aris’s recital of her introduction to poetry is tempting, and gives us an insight on what it to come. The poetry itself is magic. The emotions are intricate and varied. Some of them have a pleasantly humorous twist at the end. My personal favourite is love is a rose, a beautiful poem about the nature of love. She recites love as many things, and all of it effective. This is a book that could last you a long while, as each poem tells a different story. I would recommend the hardcover as there is just more emotion to an actual page than a collection of pixels. Aris seems like a poet where she has written what is in her thoughts, free for interpretation, rather than preaching a message. I would watch this space.

Beautiful, simple poems that are written from the heart. Mary Aris lets us into her world with her lovely poetry.
