The second novel in The Brothers Salem , a new contemporary paranormal romance series where a trio of demon hunters--armed with spells and snark--are on a mission to slay some demons, break some curses, and get their girls. Unless the girls get them first.
Elizabeth Cole is a romance author with a penchant for history, which is why she lives in an old house in an old city. She can be found hanging around libraries and archives, or curled in a corner reading, cat on lap. She believes in love at first sight. Then again, she also believes that mac 'n' cheese is a healthy breakfast, so don't trust her judgment on everything.

Reach for Me by Elizabeth Cole is the second book in her Brothers Salem series. Note: this review contains spoilers! There’s a house on a hill. Cara, a master wood worker and restoration expert, is there to restore it to its former glory. The Salem brothers living across the road are there to make sure she doesn’t. Because they know something she doesn’t: there is a hell hole, a gateway to other worlds and dimensions, under that house and it can not be opened! Mal, the Salem brother who is the fighter, the runner, the one with muscles most of us don’t even know exist, is chosen to work on the house and keep an eye on things at the house and Cara. And as much as Cara is lost in her wood work, she does notice all those muscles, er Mal. But there are three things Mal and Cara didn’t plan on: the floor that Cara is working so hard to restore is the gateway to the hell hole, there is a ghost haunting the house, and the money to restore the house but primarily that one floor is coming from a demon! Oh, boy! Will the floor get finished? Will Mal accept his feelings for Cara? Will the ghost be set free? Will the flames come again? You’re going to have to read it to find out! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

The Salem brothers are back. This time they are keeping an eye on the hellhole in the house across the street. This spot has been on the Salem family’s radar for a long time. When Cara Michaels is contracted to renovate the house, Mal hires onto her crew, just to keep an eye on thing in the house of course.
Reach for Me is a spine-tingling romp in the spirit world. Everybody is here, Dom, Mal, Lex, Vinny, Lily, Behemoth and Piewicket. The family is trying to keep the renovation crew, especially Cara, from opening the hellhole accidentally. The characters work together to solve the mystery that is wrapped around the house. The friction, then tension, chemistry between Mal and Cara is hot and abundantly fun to watch. This is a scary tale complete with vampires, a ghost, demons, and a séance. It will not be easy to have a romance in these circumstances. Strong and determined characters and an action-packed, scary, and unpredictable story make this one a must read.
I love Elizabeth Cole's books normally. I've read all her others multiple times. I had to keep checking back to see if I had the correct author. Poor language, too much sex that adds nothing to the story and disappointing characters. I read it hoping it would improve. I thought the prequel very good, the first book had stronger characters and less random f..k choice and sex was relevant. Every book can't be a best seller.
A new fantastic book in the "The Brothers Salem" series, and it could read as stand alone. Demons, vampires, ghost and telepathic cats will entrainment you until the end... together with a young woman so good at restoration... and demon hunters ... I recommend this book to all that love fantasy and mystery.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest review.
was an entertaining book. Ms. Cole does a good job of creating likable characters. The fact that the heroine has self image problems is believable and a good reason for her resistance to the totally got hero. The story line is predictable but nicely delivered. It was a good read.
Hmm, a bit sophomoric with the dialogue but interesting plot and sensical ending for paranormal buffs. I really like the Salem family overall. Mal and Cara - stiff - which put me off but maybe that is just who they are.
