Wych Elm

Wych Elm is a celebration of a quintessentially British tree. This book describes in detail for the first time the ecological and cultural history of a tree species ravaged by Dutch elm disease but still thriving in its last European stronghold in the Highlands and West coast of Scotland.

Superb. The story of Toby who got battered and his cousins Susanna and Leon and the Ivy House where their uncle Hugo stayed. Great characters and sense of voice, while the plot kept me reading with its twists and sense of dread, even before the skill of Dominic was found.
