The Field Trip Mystery is a very good and exciting book to read, which was written by a very talented author, Eleanor Robins. This story talks about how the protagonist, Drake, and his best friend, Noah, dont want to go to this field trip organized by Mr.Zane. Drake had a game to play the night of the field trip to play, so he asked Mr.Zane if he couldn't come. Mr.Zane objected and said that all the students in this class have to go. In addition, Drake is trying to find a way to escape this horrible field trip, or find an excuse to not go. Also his friend Noah follows him because he dent want to go either. After trying to find many different excuses, the boys couldn't find any, so they just waited for the following days. In the following days, the boys happen to face a coincidence, which was that their permission slips were lost. When the told the teacher, he wasn't pleased and he blamed them for doing it in purpose. So they got in trouble and made the teacher want to take them more to that field trip because they were doing stupid things. Hence, Noah and Drake tried all different plans, but none of them succeed. However, Noah’s plan was to dump all the permission slips of the boring science field trip in the trash and make the whole class cancel the trip. The principle and the teacher knew it was him, so he got in trouble. During all this adventure Drake didn't know that his best friend didn't want to go, but at the end they knew that they were both trying to get rid of the trip. Finally, the day of the trip they both came which surprised everyone and they liked it after all.

The characters in the story evolve because they are both best friends, but they dont know what is in each others mind. through the story, at the end the event which triggers the reader, is that they both finally know that they didn't want to go to the trip and they were both trying to get rid of it. Secondly, the book’s message is to show that best friend are mostly the same and they are best friends for a reason. They both act the same way and think the sale way, and hey also know the each other very well because they understand each other. The reader’s most likely favorite character is Noah because he is the one that keeps everything in a mystery and doesn't tell anyone what he is going to do. He does all these plans and keeps them a secret even to his best friend. Even the protagonist is a likable character because he is a good boy that tries to get rid of the trip. So they are both funny, but the character who is disliked is Mr.Zane because he is like the antagonist. He is the mean one that wants to make the kids go to the boring trip and he is the one that finds out what they want to do. He always understands their plans and finds out everything they want to do. In conclusion, the ending is a very good ending because the story finishes happily and good for the characters because they like the trip after all and they come back in time for the game.

My favorite part of the story was when Noah planned a marvelous and smart plan to make the trip cancel for everybody. He made phone calls and pranked the teacher to make him think that he is a parent and say that the trip is a bad idea. It was my favorite part because it was the funniest and also because they finally know that they are both aiming for the same goal. My least favorite part is when the school finds out that it is Noah who tried to cancel the trip because I felt bad for him and he was getting in big trouble. I would read another novel by the same author because the author is very talented and the writing and format of the book is very nice. It is quick, descriptive, adventurous, and fun book. I could recommend this book to all middle schoolers because the story knows how to express a students feeling because a middle schooler also wouldn't want to go to a boring field trip. Finally, the middle school would understand the characters better.
