Throughout my career, I've gained boots-on-the-ground experience in over 500 production facilities, bridging the gap between traditional manufacturing and the exciting world of Industry 4.0. My approach demystifies smart manufacturing, showing how today's production environments have evolved from "dark, dank, and dangerous" to high-tech hubs of innovation where "mass production" transforms into "mass customization."
My hands-on expertise ranges from installing sensors in massive automotive engine machine tools to testing industrial radio technology in the New York subway system. I've donned the requisite "bunny suit" to work alongside clients in both pharmaceutical and semiconductor clean rooms, giving me unparalleled insight into the practical applications of smart manufacturing principles.

Such an eye opening book on manufacturing today
What a great idea of explaining real world advanced applications on a subject most people think is outdated. Smart manufacturing as explained by the author is so advanced today that we don’t even see or recognize that it already dominates our daily tasks. What a great book to show someone how knowing manufacturing affects all businesses. If you don’t know how smart manufacturing impacts your business directly, you are missing a big piece of the puzzle that exists but hasn’t made the media rounds yet. Glad I read this.
