So many scenes that weren't in the movie! 😱 They really should have added those in. Would have made a lot more sense, just saying. Even two deleted songs!! Thanks to this book we can visualize how they would have played out 🥰

“Seeking change from their busy lives in New York City Giselle and Robert relocate their family to the suburb of Monroeville, a charming town reminiscent of Andalasia. The fairy tale land where Giselle grew up. Their teenage daughter, Morgan, However, is less than thrilled. After a mishap in Morgan’s room at the new house, her entire wardrobe is ruined! And to make things worse, Giselle accidentally embarrasses Morgan in front of her peers at her new school. In a fit of anger, Morgan tells Giselle that she will never be her real mother, only her stepmother. Giselle is devastated. Desperate to alter her circumstances, she wishes on the Wand of wishes for a fairy tale life for her and her family. The next day, her wish comes true! But it isn’t without a price. Will Giselle get her happily ever after once again? Or is this the end for Giselle and all of Andalasia?” So Giselle makes her wish on the wand of wishes and it does come true, the quiet little suburbs where she lives already seem magical and whimsical, and her family is constantly bursting into song about everything. But Giselle starts to slowly turn wicked! As it turns out she’s turning into a wicked stepmother! But it can be revered by midnight and it’s up to Morgan to save her. The magical land where Giselle comes from, Andalasia, is losing all its magic and it’s coming into the real world! So that’s the price of Giselle’s wish. A good story with a nice ending.

Happily ever after doesn’t seem to be all it’s cracked up to be for Giselle. After giving birth to Sophia, Giselle and Sophia receive a wish granting wand. Around the same time, the family moves to Monroeville with their family. As a result, Giselle and Robert’s daughter, Morgan starts acting out. To make matters worse, the queen bee of the two seems to have it out for Giselle. Wanting her family’s life to be the perfect fairy tale, Giselle makes a wish with the wand for that to happen. Soon, things around her are seeming more like a fairy tale, but Giselle seems to becoming more villain-like than heroine. Will she find a way to strike a happy medium in her life or will she become the villain of her own story?

The plot is reminiscent of the live action movie and fairly well-written. The characters are likable an true to the original movie. Fans of Disenchanted, fairy tales, and fantasy will want to read this book. Recommended for library collections where such books are popular.

This story exactly represents the idiom " be careful what you wish for" because the story starts with Giselle, Seeking a change from their busy lives in New York City, Giselle and Robert relocate their family to the suburb of Monroeville, a charming town reminiscent of Andalasia, the fairy-tale land where Giselle grew up. Their teenage daughter, Morgan, however, is less than thrilled. After a mishap in Morgan’s room at the new house, her entire wardrobe is ruined! In a fit of anger, Morgan tells Giselle that she will never be her real mother, only her stepmother.

Giselle is devastated. Desperate to alter her circumstances, she wishes on the Wand of Wishes for a fairy-tale life for her and her family. The next day, her wish comes true. So like in fairy tales she became a damsel in distress and fought with a bad witch and for happily ever after she had to win it back from her and have to save Andalasia to come to the real world in between the world
