This is not a field guide to Australian snakes, but as the title states, a natural history. While the examples given are mostly Australian snakes, a lot of the subject matter applies to all snakes. This is a great introduction to snakes and how they fit into their environments. It's written at a level that most interested amateurs can understand, and covers all of the important topics of snake biology.
